Simple Delivery

Is Simple Delivery mandatory now ? used to be able to select custom postage option but it’s not available now. Just tried listing and Simple Delivery is the only option for postage

Ebay does appear to only want business sellers. Many businesses have their own websites, which I shall be going to in the future, now that this private seller no longer makes any pocket money to spend on eBay.

Exactly right. EBay robots “do not compute” complaints but the CMA will do!!!
Fill in the online form ASAP, unless you are happy to be dictated to by this greedy corporation.

What started out years ago as online car boot sale has turned into a greedy corporation allowing China to sell shoddy goods. It’s not about private sellers any more and they don’t want us, hence trying to rip us all off with their greedy unlawful lack of competition for our choice of postage, which is none of eBay’s business.

Do you mean if you book a collection on a certain day they don't come and pick it up? It's only happened once to me - also out in the sticks- it was a computer error not a van error! Yesterday was somewhat late at 5 to 5 (but I didn't have anything for them to collect). Usually by about 15:30

I've not had a tracked 48/24 not show tracking. Tho I only look if it is not marked as delivered when I expect it to be delivered.
So yes I will give it a go - get a bit less for things than previously. And stick with small parcel size.

What else to do? Give it away? I've had a big clear out... I'm rural, I don't drive, but could get someone to take me to a car boot, but I can't be outside except completely covered up and umbrella because allergic to light, so it isn't really viable. And as you might see from my listings a bit of a specialist collection been weeded out.

I'm sure that in the past eBay tried out any new ideas an an option for several months in order to let ebayers try it out, answer any questions and iron out any problems. This simple delivery seems very rushed and at the moment is very unclear on exactly what is going to happen in a few days time. I am not comfortable being forced to use a system which I haven't had chance to understand.

But simple delivery has been trialled for quite some time, think in clothing - from sometime last year.
But clearly didn't iron out all the problems...

Indeed, but it was hardly a comprehensive trial.

Clothing does not, for instance, break if it gets dropped or crushed....

This is true... and it wasn't available to all to give a very broad overview, it wasn't available to me!

I don't have an objection to anyone using the simple delivery system if it's best for them.

My objection is we should be able to have the choice of which service we want to use & this is being taken away from us on April 15th, I don't understand why they can't just let us choose

Because it’s down to their greed, pure and simple. It’s illegal to remove competition for anything in the UK and the CMA will get involved to stop this lack of postage options, but it needs EVERYONE to fill in the simple online form.

Just submitted a complaint to CMA as forcing people to use certain postage options is surely against competition rules when cheaper options are available, especially as Royal Mail tracked is cheaper at the post office than Not So Simple Delivery.

Absolutely.
But not just no choice it's more expensive for small parcel (especially if you can't do evri drop off) and in some cases no "express" service available (like in my postcode area)

You are quite correct. I’m glad you have written to the CMA- as have I and MANY others as it is illegal. Please tell all your friends (whether they have anything to do with this corrupt company or not) as everyone needs to be made aware of this.

Please fill in the simple online form to CMA as this is illegal to stop all form of postal competition for their choice of courier only.
