Nor will eBay either, because you won’t have any proof that you actually sent the item. When I took my parcel to my local PO, they did take it despite it not scanning but after checking an hour later and seeing it still said waiting to be posted, I went back to our PO and requested the parcel back.
You could get an unscrupulous buyer who receives an item , looks at the tracking and sees it still to be sent and then could put in a claim that item was never received. The seller would lose all their money, buyer gets a refund and keeps the item 😞

My local post office accepted my YA parcel but wasn't able to give me a receipt.
Asked me to take photo of the parcel worth the postage label.
Gave me this printout (photo attached)

Awesome, especially to those going to the PO today and the staff know what to do

If you go to Seller Hub -> Postage Labels down left hand side and look at your list of postage labels, then under Actions for each order there's an option for Proof of Postage.
Take that to the PO with your parcel, which they stamp which then covers you as the seller that it was posted / accepted at the Post Office.
From reading the other comments on this post, the tracking will then start when Royal Mail take over (the problem only appears to be at the PO side) so the tracking should therefore update automatically then once the parcel is on the move.
I don't have a Royal Mail Post Locker anywhere near me but had been offering same day dispatch so I was trying to figure out how to honour that!

Yeah I got the same problem this afternoon. Had to buy a new label at the Post Office which cost me £12.19. Looks like the person who will get a refund on this is the buyer, not me.
I don't find anything particularly simple about this service, it is just a load of hassle for me but this one takes the biscuit.
What a load of bloody rubbish!

I just tried to do exactly this in my local post office and was told they couldn't stamp the certificate as they didn't have a rubber stamp 🤦🤦🤦

On saturday waited two hours for call back. Spoke to guy for maybe a minute and got cutoff. Assumed he would call me straight back but no. I then dialled the number myself and waited another two hours to speak to someone. During my second wait I found a few threads on the ebay community so I knew it was a countrywide issue. When I eventually spoke to someone I suggested they tell their superiors to put a message on the ebay site or maybe tweet something on X about it. That would likely prevent their CS being completely overwhelmed with calls.

I’ve just had the exact thing happen, has yours updated by any chance?

Parcels dont scan at the royal mail drop boxes either

Yes I had same problem this morning 4 August. It's not a fake. Royal mail have changed tracking 48 numbers starting TQ to YA but Post Office unable to scan due to their system being not updated.
From what I've found out this was to happen by today 4 August but having tried two different post offices still not working.
I was told by counter staff to try again tomorrow, but she didn't know when it would be sorted although Royal Mail aware of problem.
You could try dropping at local delivery office between 8am -10am

I went back to the post office this afternoon and my parcel was accepted and scanned after being refused this morning however no receipt is available.
I photographed the label and the lady accepting it.

If you buy a 48hr label at the post office, it costs more... no way am i paying for 24hr, when this is a system issue.... not my issue

The YA parcels don't scan at RM Drop Boxes either... so RM are still part of this problem...
