Option on sold listings to ‘send payment details’ has disappeared and I’m unable to send people invoices for combined orders like I normally do. I did a live chat with customer service, but I don’t really think they knew what I was talking about.
I have buyers waiting to pay, but are reluctant to pay for the entire postage cost in one go and have me refund due to the amount of money they would have in limbo.
anybody else having the same problem? Anyone at eBay able to confirm it’s being looked into so I can tell my buyers?

@davrman wrote:Has anyone made multiple purchases with Simple Delivery that have been automatically combined (with reduced postage) by eBay? I'm sure I remember seeing an example of this in one of these threads, but when I've tested it by adding two items from one seller to the basket, it "Simply" doubles the postage cost...
I've just tried this again with two items from another seller, and the eBay system did automatically reduce the postage cost. I added two items to the basket which had the Standard Tracked postage listed at £2.94 each, and the combined postage was shown as £3.71 split (unevenly) between the two.

@Marco
I brought up this issue about refunds with MARCO last June and several times since - and its not been addressed, even though a Mentor had the same occurrence and confirmed mine - will info sent to HMRC show the adjustment and split between the product and the postage portions?

That's because they are giving part of the BPF back off the item. Yes i've given postage refunds and they always split the refund between item and postage. It actually helps the buyer because they are paying less BPF and it doesn't affect what we are refunding

buyer because they are paying less BPF
Do you think that a few coppers refunded against the scope of a whole new fee, will stimulate happiness in the Buyers now then?

Im sorry if my post was taken the wrong way - i have little interest in whether a seller is Private or Business - ebay invites all and encourages the activity routes they choose. Its only a few Mentors and maybe the same amount of 'normal' sellers who raise concerns.
The cause of the problem lies firmly with ebay - do you think a problem like this would not be rectified in hours should it be affecting how our fees were taken less than what ebay dictate?
And now when a genuine concern is raised over an orchestrated change we are told it may take ' 90 days to fix' ?
What private sellers are feeling now is what i expect a wider range of sellers to feel in the near future.

I am a private seller. Selling 3 inherited stamp collection and First Day Covers that my children have told me they do not want to inherit. I also am selling my own vintage card collection of over 40 years and some I have bought in the last couple years. I don’t sell enough to become a business. I don’t think EBay will fix the invoice/combined postage situation or the Buyer Protection, it is not in their interest. If enough private buyers leave will they start charging Business sellers more to claw back money?
I haven’t put on any Lots for a few weeks now. I am just waiting for all Lots finish and I will then rethink what to do next.
For me this has been a pleasant hobby, I have learnt a bit about stamps. I have had some lovely buyers that are prepared to pay upfront and I refund the postage that I can. However a lot of my buyers vanished once Buyers Protection came in. It made my £1 Lots too expensive.
I would like to go back to paying to sell. Scrap all other changes.

I totally understand your sentiments and feel for your concerns and frustrations at what selling on ebay has become for you.
For reasons outside of ebay, i became a Business many years ago - which also applied to ebay, although it is questionable as to my survival as a business without outside assistance. Sadly the journey to being a Business on ebay is irreversible for reasons known to ebay.
With respect to your niche products, are there dedicated groups who exchange information about the items and provide a source of information for you? I am fortunate to have access to such groups, which form the basis of my high percentage 'returning ' customer base - hence the ability to sell my items despite ebay.
Rather than rely on ebays damaged search functions - products can be directed to potential buyers, and indeed buyers to my products.
ebay have a financial approach which only uses Sellers and Buyers as a cash drop - i cant think of any innovations introduced by ebay which even partially benefit users.
The current none sense of charging multiple postage amounts , then refunding the Buyer shows Mentors ability to assist in finding 'work-arounds', but really, why would any current employee of ebay be allowed to make such a process? Unless it was by design of course.
Good luck on your endeavors, i trust you will find a way to operate as you wish and be successful.

Hello,
I don’t have access to a dedicated groups. I had not heard of this. Stamps are a mine field for the beginner like me and I have other Ebayer’s that will put me on the right path if I list something wrong which I am grateful for.
For me I think selling low cost collectibles I shall have to group them in Lots rather than sell individually. It makes The Buyers Protection although not acceptable more reasonable until EBay allow invoices and combined postage, however l don’t think this will happen. Although I have a lot of regular buyers a £1 item is ok with postage but add on buyers premium unless they can combine postage it is too expensive. Sales at the moment are almost non existent all because of this. I am lucky this is just a hobby.
I hope you can survive this as a business.
