AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Especially when my click through rate and impressions are down nearly 40%.
Makes me wonder considering I'm above standard with glowing 100% feedback and some of them are very complimentary.

It helps you stand out in saturated listings. For example I had a vintage 'Land Rover' badge for sale, so 10% promoted made sense when it was £50. As I dropped the price and got more views watchers, it didn't make sense at £30. Although I stopped promoting I was seemingly charged on the time the buyer clicked, not the price they bought. I have posted separately but nobody has responded. When the item sells there's very little transparency with regards the promotion fee. On the rare occasion I used it I increase the price to cover the fee, so I was a bit perplexed when I was charged 18% on the lower price.

That's exactly how I felt once I removed my listings. I ended up with a much needed reality check and huge sigh of relief.

So was I, still was when I stopped listing, over 8k positive feedback, some very complimentary too, for what!

I wonder how many of them are really aware of what's going on.

I still can't understand when someone leaves you feedback funds are released straight away but for tracking/postal confirmation we have to wait 2 days for payout .I had 2 parcels reach the buyers today and they left me feedback immediately and my funds were released within minutes .It is just stupid .

I’ve got items on with 3.45
postage Royal mail
up to 2kg
if they change my custom delivery to sd buyer will pay 4.27
Which is fine if postage included packaging which I don’t charge for anyway but it doesn’t
It’s an inflated price by 82p
for what???? Exactly? I’d like to know why buyer is being charged 82p over the Royal Mail price when you buy direct or via eBay labels before the changes

Nearly 3,000 positive feedback as a seller/buyer which really counts for nothing and so many years of loyalty wasted. Everything is just so manipulated here now.

It makes me laugh when there are sellers with lots and lots of negative and neutral feedback and Ebay say they are a top rated seller and consistently give good customer service ,REALLY ? .

It doesn't really make sense. Unless you do what your told and do things their way. A classic case of manipulation.

MY MESSAGE TO eBay
Hi,
I don’t know if you read the eBay community posts but there is a real sense of frustration among private sellers regarding SIMPLE DELIVERY. In fact it seems to me that many private sellers will withdraw their items from sale because of it when it becomes mandatory on 15th April.
I really can’t understand why eBay has introduced this, why can’t sellers have the freedom to select their own shipping costs and courier? As long as the shipping costs and chosen courier are clear and transparent before a buyer purchases an item, I really can’t see a problem.
I also think the BUYER PROTECTION FEE should be rethought. This is a totally unnecessary fee if the item is sent using a tracked method. For instance, Royal Mail Tracked 48 service insures items up to £150 and costs only £2.80 for a 7” record / CD / DVD sized parcel, and is more than enough insurance to cover the majority of items sold on eBay by private sellers. Imposing a buyer protection fee means that the item is being insured TWICE if sent via a tracked service. Perhaps making tracked delivery mandatory for items over a certain value would be a better way of protecting buyers.
I hope you reconsider these latest changes as I and many others believe they will cause an exodus of loyal sellers - and eventually buyers - and will ruin eBay as the premier selling platform.

It is 2 days as long as the tracking says it has been delivered, if not it is 14 days from date of order even if tracking doesn't show it has been delivered but you will have to contact eBay and ask for your money, I had to do that. So if RM or Evri as that's the only couriers you will be able to use from tomorrow, don't update their tracking records you will be waiting 14 days from date of order for your payment

I went last Sunday after 10 years
14-04-2025 6:47 PM
And they are classed the same as users with 100% feedback who have no neutrals or negatives. Where is there justice in that.
14-04-2025 6:47 PM
I would love to know who goes to the meet ups .I bet they don't go to complain .
14-04-2025 6:49 PM
Not sure they are the premier selling platform, hasn't been that for some time imo. Agree with you though, people leaving in droves and sellers leaving also mean buyers leaving as well, like me
14-04-2025 6:50 PM
Yes, be interesting to be a fly on the wall
14-04-2025 6:50 PM
And then it'll eventually get to affect a lot of small business sellers too.
