NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

To play devils advocate,  if the SD t&c's are correct and sellers responsibility ends at despatch and not up to delivery,  what's to stop a seller just putting a label on a piece of card and sending it. Tracking will show it as sent and delivered.  Is it up to the buyer to prove they havnt received what they bought?

I know I'm a very bad man for thinking that one up.

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Evri is going to be a pain for anyone who is still on here from tomorrow because they are very slow at picking parcels up from parcels shops ,and they leave parcels anywhere they like ,they left one for my son in his wheelie bin . And they won't deliver to us because they say they haven't got time to deliver to every door ,so they leave all the parcels in a yard in a metal unlocked box that anyone in the world  has access to .

What are the odds that only positive respondents will be selected lol. I keep smiling at the thought of what the response would be if these changes were rolled out globally going by the response here in the UK.

They are a complete disgrace, I have had so many parcels lost, broken, delivered elsewhere in the past, why does anyone use them?

They are better than they were. BUT they are still the worst option in my opinion.

No point being on here and standing on my soapbox if I said something different to them, they need to know how people feel

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Already experienced it today, when eBay automatically combined postage for 5 items a buyer had purchased from me. I advise a combined postage of £4.75 for the items combined, Royal Mail 48 hour tracked that would also cover my posting materials (new box and bubble wrap form our bulk purchased stock) before the items ended, each individual listed stated £4.50 postage when I placed the listing before the "Simple Delivery" was even an option. eBay went ahead and combined the postage on my behalf which I could not amend and when I did try to raise a combined invoice to submit to the buyer I got the message stating, "Invoices cannot be sent for items where eBay manages all or part of the postage. These items are excluded from this invoice." These items were listed and sold before the "Simple Delivery" has been implemented and when I called eBay direct, I was told it was a system error and they could not change it back. As a consequence the buyer has had to pay postage of £5.54 + VAT £1.11, so total postage they were charged was £6.65 for the same Royal Mail service that actually costs £3.45 and I have received nothing to cover the packing and eBay reckon they get 20% better postage rates??? Not good, and while I feel sorry for the buyer, there is nothing I can do as I am already out of pocket for the packing materials. And then the buyer was also charged "Buyer Protection". What can you say or do???

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Likewise, as both buyer and seller on eBay for almost 24 years and with almost 6000 feedbacks, I have had enough. I have removed all my active listings already which have gone into 'unsold', and I am working through those now unsold listings to save the data so that I can list them on my own map website under a 'boot sale' section, and once I have finished that I will have left eBay permanently. I do not believe such an arrogant company will ever change its profiteering course, and go back to charging sellers a simple percentage of sales, so they don't want me. Having lost me as a seller, they will have lost me as a buyer too.

Well so far one of my local posties hasn't collected 1 package yet with a SD label on it and he's even stopped selling here because he's fed up of being told what to do and no way can I see him using SD when he actually works for RM.

I don't intend to list anything anymore while SD is compulsory. I'm only being active here because of how I feel and because I want to see what happens from tomorrow onwards. I already have 2 options that I will try when I see how this pans out. Plus I'd love to see what happens if they roll these changes out globally.
