Multiple accounts

hi im reading a lot of posts and people are saying they are running multiple accounts

I wonder how many people are running more than one

Is this what ebay want ?

lots of cloak and dagger ? multiple accounts

One singer one Song .

if all the multiple accounts were removed? one passport one account

I wonder how many people are actually here

I bloody hate the cyber world it just allows people to try and be smarter than the average bear .

this is a reason why HMRC want involved as i suspect some sellers have found some kind of dodge (or did for a short time )

multiple accounts multiple emails and probally multiple bank accounts too

always a few wastes things for others

Some very, very old advice, never buy and sell on the same account [as you do] because you leave yourself open to retaliatory buying complete with bad feedback.

Re: Multiple accounts

There's nothing cloak and dagger about it. Some sellers run multiple accounts, it depends on what kind of items they're listing.

If, for example, they have one business selling plants and another business selling kitchen items then they'd have two selling accounts.

They'll have a buying account too.

There is no HMRC 'dodge' there. I don't know why you think that would be possible?

Re: Multiple accounts

In the old days, when community boards were a little more boisterous, it was quite risky to use your selling ID.   Very occasionally if people didn't like an opinion they'd wreck that person's auctions (bidding to leave neg feedback).   So some of us started posting IDs and have carried on using them.

Re: Multiple accounts

If you had found the (then) old Boards when you joined, you’d understand why.

For many, it’s a throwback - and for others, wise.

Many have said that in the heat of the moment.

They (in the cold light of day) eventually have decided against it.

Re: Multiple accounts

no

im in limbo at the moment

waiting for a responce from ebay not just on the accounts issue

if you see my other posts

im going backwards at the moment so

what to do just end listings ive payed for ?

im in the throws to removing all auto relists to let the listings run out

it dosent make sence money wise be better just dumping. that way no costs exept for the fuel to the tip

ill keep my nice stuff but everything elese smashed and dumped lol no dump picked listings for others

53 not good health Ebay was a good wee hussle but too much hassle now i feel beter to dump and regret than spending money to sell . maybe give gumtree a go until the HMRC catches up with that too . i dont minde paying a fee on a sale but paying to list just dosnt work for me

Re: Multiple accounts

Some overseas sellers have 1,000's of accounts.

Ebay themselves have many other businessess as do many high street ,erm,"chains".

Ebay members can have up to 6 active selling accounts per person to sell on and as many others as they wish to buy on only.

So,a family of 4 adults, all over 18 can have 24 accounts at same address.

Re: Multiple accounts

Disalousioned with people again

ebay can log every key stroke i make on the site (and everyone else )

it worries me that a listing i look at once follows we around the site for weeks but ebay cannot identify this type of situation yet

i do know this from way back but thought the site would have sorted this by now

the AI is quick enough to dig you up automatically for other things

They can.

The only thing they can't share is an email address, each eBay account needs its own unique email address.
