When simple delivery is made mandatory for private sellers will the process be as follows:
* Purchasing buyer chooses the postage option they want i.e. Royal Mail or EVRI
* Buyer completes checkout, buying the postage from ebay
* Ebay sends the postage label to the private seller
What if a private seller does not have a printer to print the label that ebay sends them?

I can't find the post that you were replying to, can you explain what you want to know and I'll try and help.

It is still possible to use the Evri drop off boxes without a printer. Open the email with your barcode on it, write down the code printed underneath the barcode and enter that into the Evri box when it asks you to scan the barcode.

It is still possible to use the Evri drop off boxes without a printer or a smart phone. Open the email with your barcode on it, write down the code printed underneath the barcode and enter that into the Evri box when it asks you to scan the barcode.
I find it very difficult to beleive that anyone succesfully selling 50-60 items a month on ebay *doesn't* have a smart phone, but that's just my suspicious nature I guess.

That's a peculier comment. Not having a smart phone is quite normal. Why would that arouse suspicion? I don't have TV, radio, smartphone, printer, vacuum cleaner, dishwasher, tumble drier, electric iron, car, passport, driving licence. Does all that make me a suspicious character lol?
I do have a computer at home with basic internet connection and that is sufficient for all my needs. Recently I spent a whole year without internet at home and just used the local library for my internet needs. It was fine, other than the built-in censorship used to prevent children buying guns that interfered with the writing work I do.
it's a myth that anyone or everyone 'needs' a smartphone.

I will not be using "Simple Delivery", current system works perfectly fine for me.

You will though, or you will need to upgrade to a business seller account not to. They're forcing all private sellers on to it pretty soon.

I’ll just leave and go elsewhere tbh. I mostly just sell my unwanted trading cards, so I can just take them all to a local card store or pop them on one of the many Facebook groups.
I work from home during the day so having Royal Mail collection is super convenient for me, once that convenience is gone I really have nothing keeping me on ebay for selling.
And once the buyer protection fees roll out to trading cards and other collectibles categories I wont be buying here either.

you know the evri drop boxes are open 24/7? You will really give up on thousands of pounds worth of sales for the convenience factor of using royal mail collection? 🤣
No you won't.
I'll see you back here in a year.

I will never use Evri, I have standards.
As I said, plenty of other avenues for the items I sell.

And yet I still wont be able to use untracked, will I?
Nobody is paying for tracked postage on cheap items.

When ebay make Simple Delivery mandatory I believe the buyer will choose between standard tracked and express tracked.
16-02-2025 11:35 PM
Yeah doesn't work for me, will be impossible to sell any of my lower value items when there's hundreds of business sellers offering free cheap untracked postage instead.

These were the postage options from my first Simple Delivery Ebay purchase. The courier that the seller was going to use was hidden from me.

Those are crazy costs.
For majority of the items I sell nobody is paying around £4 postage for them. Business sellers are offering either free/included postage or 85p 2nd Class postage.
Literally going to kill off my sales with this. Hence why I'll just be going elsewhere.

These are the new prices for Simple Delivery:

Just had my first experience of "simple delivery" when trying to list my first item in a few weeks....simple it is not....had to go all around the houses to find my usual Royal Mail 2nd class.
Just exactly what CLOWN has come up with this nonsense?

You come across as extremely smug.
Give yourself a pat on the head.

I bought a very old oil painting on ebay and the lady just sent it in a padded envelope with royal mail ,nothing to protect the frame or the glass or the picture itself ,it was 24 inches x 18 inches . Well when the painting arrived it was really smashed up and the lady couldn't understand why it was so smashed up and insisted I sent it all back to her so that she could try and work out what had gone wrong . It was such a shame as it was an antique painting and the glass had cut through the canvas too so there was nothing that could be repaired ,the plaster and wood frame was smashed up too but she thought a padded envelope would be enough to protect it ,the envelope was cut up badly too .

"go all around the houses"? For a moment there I thought eBay now required sellers to deliver all their items in person 🙂
