Morning all. I recently sold an anchor! Big heavy thing for stopping boats or as a garden feature. Buyer “paid” then requested delivery. The ad says Collection Only. He is unwilling/ unable to pay for the delivery. Currently marked as Awaiting Collection and he is 250 miles away. Not sure how to resolve this. I would welcome any helpful suggestions.
Thanks.

I'd cancel the order.
Ask him if he'd like to do that first, then select the 'buyer asked to cancel' reason:
This doesn't impact your selling account in any way.

keep the message then cancel the order and block the buyer.
Unless they are willing to collect nothing more you can do.

Just a heads up, I'd change
Bit heavy to post, so collection preferred.
to THIS ITEM IS COLLECTION IN PERSON ONLY in your listing description.

I don't see a postage option on that item. It is correctly showing as collection only.
If the buyer won't agree to a cancellation then you should have the option to cancel the order using the reason 'Unable to arrange pickup with buyer' or 'Buyer needs item to be shipped'.

It looks to me as though the original listing was collection only, but the relisted (current) one has postage.

Good Afternoon BB
You listed it correctly first time with Collection indicated. On your relist you really need to amend it in a hurry and delete this £3.38 postage reference.
In your position I would title it as follows. Large,Heavy Boat Anchor or Attractive Garden Ornament. COLLECTION ONLY.

Yep, £3.38 postage is a bargain, even for a buyer who lives within just a few miles of you who could collect it's perhaps just as convenient to have you post it. Conversely, it's inconvenient to be the one posting it.

Interesting. I didn’t know that or intend it obviously. It happened once before when there was a hidden page that had to be opened Maybe using a phone instead of a laptop?

Edited. Thanks.

Done. Thanks.

Thanks for the link. I had found a courier which apparently would take it for £7-ish. I’d still have to carry it though. With a herniated disc!

"I recently sold an anchor! Big heavy thing" £7 ????? Did you miss a zero coz no courier would do it for £7 ish.

Did seem a bit cheap for a 27 kg spiky object!
