Obviously this is now a thing, which I've used on vinted a couple of times but never on ebay. I have some questions....
There doesn't seem to be a dispatch time taken into account when sending.
If you send a large heavy item like I frequently do how do they know the weight and dimensions? Can you manually enter it, if so how?
I used to get my parcels collected which no longer seems to be an option with royal mail or parcelforce. Surely everyone out on the road again is environmentally ridiculous. Can you still get items collected? If there is no dispatch time how xan you suddenly find time to go to post office if you work for example as they are only open normal hours.
On vinted it doesn't show sent until you print or upload the label...much more sensible. Ebay say dispatched immediately so if you can't send for a couple days what happens.....its overdue before it's even left your hands.
Ridiculous again. Where is handling dispatch time
Million dollar question can I opt out of this system? Much prefer getting items collected with preferred carriers.
What if the label is the wrong weight?
Can you chose what carriers you wish to use. I live in the country and options are limited. Why should I now have to head out on the road to different places when before I wasn't???
Thank you in advance.

Dispatch time is three days. You can still get parcels collected. You can't opt out of Simple Delivery, it's now compulsory for all private sellers. You can remove a courier at your Account > Postage Preferences.
You have to enter weight of parcel during the listing process. If you get it wrong obviously the label will be wrong. Your best bet is to cancel the transaction and relist with correction for the buyer to buy again.

Despatch time is not taken into account in the delivery date given by ebay. This will be a huge issue if buyers select express delivery.

'Surely everyone out on the road again is environmentally ridiculous'
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Environmentally friendly ways of doing things is no longer a fashionable stance.... in the USA.
And Ebay is an American company at heart.
The tw** currently in charge in America doesn't give a hoot for environmental ideals and all the 'tech bros' etc are busy sucking up to him.
So they're not going to be pushing 'green' ideas....

Despatch time hasn't been taken into account for a long time, Ebay have their own algorithm for calculating EDD. I have a despatch time of 4 days and a 3-5 day courier yet the EDD for an auction ending this Saturday evening is 15th to 19th April. Ridiculous!
