What are ebay thinking, "simple delivery options" far from it.
Keep it the way it was, don't force us to use a system that doesn't work well !
No option for royal mail special delivery !
1-2kg tracked parcels are the wrong price.
No option to choose 48hr or 24hr small tracked parcels.
Let us choose a list of couriers we can pick and set our own prices.
We are relying on prices set by ebay for each courier.

The whole point is that eBay don't want you to use other couriers or services. They want you to be forced to use EvriParcelNicked, because eBay and Evri have jumped into bed together, and are now snug-as-a-bug!
It looks like many of us small/occasional private sellers are going to be leaving eBay soon.

If everyone stopped selling for a week or month. I'm sure things would change.
Let's have a sales holiday starting 15th April. 🤣

And a buying holiday!

Yep there is no way of holding ebay accountable except by direct action.
If buyers fancy a holiday too all the better.

I completely agree "Simple Delivery" is not simple. Far too many errors or very easy to make errors if the size or weight is wrong. When you come to post it is refused at the post office, what do you do then. Having no choice is outrageous

No option for royal mail special delivery ! — True. However if a parcel is lost or damaged e-Bay say they'll pay up to £750 compensation.
1-2kg tracked parcels are the wrong price. — e-Bay say the have negotiated "Special Prices" with Evri and RM.
No option to choose 48hr or 24hr small tracked parcels. — They are tracked anyway and the BUYER chooses a 48- or 24-hour service depending if economy or speed is more important to them.

I sell used car parts. Most of them are larger than 61*46*46, but there is no option to choose larger parcel dimensions. For example, car doors. 😄

The question is why the system has been programmed to put car doors under a max of medium parcel (not to mention my 2m long sofa recommended to me to post as an under 1kg large letter)
Obviously it can’t have been because that would be stupid by any measure
(unless it was a toy)
so seems to me they have a) not done the job properly b) know they haven’t but are just sitting on it as non priority
what other explanation is there
granted the system is a bit complex, there’s so many categories and sub categories and it’s a big job but hey ebay is a big company they should be able to get the relevant staff and put things in order before they Chuck it out to the public
I’m sure there’s a logical explanation but ….

I send large shipments up to 30 kg with Parcelforce, thank God I can still see Simple delivery shipments on the Parcelforce page.

I'm just about to post an item which is small parcel size (it's a 12" single) via the Global Shipping Programme hub - the buyer's paid £2.75 for essentially Tracked 48, pretty much 70p less than the amount shown on the Royal Mail site. Bizarre...

I accidentally chose eBay's courier service, so prepaid labels were generated. I know eBay doesn't reimburse that amount, but how can I update the tracking info with the one from my own courier? Any help would be appreciated!

You can claim back the cost of the unused label within 14 days if you were charged for it. If your buyer paid it they will be refunded within 30 days. Hopefully someone else can tell you how to change the tracking.

I've noticed that if you update the item location address, it allows access to additional courier options. This might be helpful to you.

royal mail and ebay have a commercial agreement, based on something like "[ebay] send x million parcels and we [rm] give you a special price"

Not tried it, but another member said he/she could do it here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/sh/ord/?filter=status:ALL_ORDERS
