Simple Delivery - when I know the package is too heavy <4kg for what ebay selected for me <2kg

I weighed my package and set up custom postage for it <4kg - the cheapest I could get was Yodel. But when the item sold, I came to a new screen and selected get postage label - expecting to be able to select Yodel. I was immediately taken to the "you've been sent a QR code" screen. Yikes!

I had no Idea:
- Who the carrier was
- The Max weight
- And crucially - whether my package will be charged for being overweight

Now I can see Ebay defaulted to 2kg and selected Evri. And I can't change it. I have been warned I will be charged twice if I cancel the label. But I have faced a charge for an overweight package before and I don't trust it.

This Simple Deliver says that the package will be accepted even if it is heavier. Is that true?

Just send it and neither you nor the Buyer will be charged extra.  It seems mad but that's how it now works.  Since the coming of Simple Delivery a large proportion of the things I've sent have been over-weight or size and there have been no problems.

When you list something e-Bay estimate the cost and WILL honour it even if it's wrong.  You CAN over-rule it but there's no point as it just makes your item more expensive and if you happen to get it wrong, for instance if your scales aren't as accurate as you believe them to be, you'll be charged the difference plus £1.
