Ebay vs royal mail tracking

A buyer has just messaged saying an item is showing as delivered but they havent had it. 

I have checked the tracking on ebay and it has updates all the way up until Sunday but then it jumps back 2 days and says "Delivered on friday" 

If i go on the royal mail website and check the tracking there they have no mention of this Delivery several days ago and as far as they are saying it is still on the way.. 

Has anyone had this before? Surely ebay shouldnt be adding their own tracking updates when they feel like it? There is nothing on Royal mail's site at all so i am assuming it is Ebay themselves in the wrong somehow??
