To say I'm outraged would be an understatement. It's not about money for me, but principle. In the past eBay has always protected buyers, but it seems even if you provide proof of counterfeit items being sold on their platform, if you have missed an arbitrary date for a return etc etc they just don't give a monkeys. Short outline: I the buyer work offshore and spend long periods of time away from home. I bought a north face 700 jacket (check out how these mass produced fakes are being touted all over eBay) described as brand new, and authentic. It was cheap, and I figured it could be old stock or have some minor fault I could overlook for the price. three weeks later I arrive home to find the item is a ridiculously bad counterfeit, im talking the size is xl yet the sleeves barely reach past my elbow, and it's quality overall is very poor. Because I have opened a return there is no option to leave feedback, and because I'm past the 'date' allowed for refund, I can't return it either. I have tried for weeks to find recourse, even cancelling the return, hoping to them at least be able to leave feedback, but no, of course I still can not. I have now begun the process of Emailing North Face, in the hope that once they are aware of the sheer volume of fakes this guys selling, they will take action, where eBay will not. A painful and outrageous process of simply washing their hands of any responsibilities to buyers, in certain circumstances. I will NOT be rolling over and taking it I'm afraid eBay.
