Hi Ive purchased a mobile phone that came with a free gift. Payed through paypal and on my receipt the free gift is shown. Next day I get an email saying free gift is out of stock and not returning anytime soon. I understand " while stocks last" but surely if I placed the order and its on my receipt it was in stock at time of order. I would think a modern website that deals with tech by the way, would not let a customer get the free gift if they had run out. Its my understanding that they should honour the transaction including free gift. Any thoughts would be appreciated.  ... View more

Hi,    I live and sell in the UK as a private ebay seller. However when I check my listings from another ebay account '20% VAT apply' shows and the price is red. I only sell for UK buyers. How can I change this? My sales dropped as I appear as an EU seller somehow. I did register the account in Hungary back in 2006 (?) but I changed my address when I moved here years ago.  ... Hi I received negative feedback from a buyer who stated that I cancelled a purchase. The purchase wasn't cancelled, I sent it, had proof of postage but I understand that it has been lost. Listing stated Royal mail 2nd class. They raised a case I have refunded in full, I have asked them twice to either remove or rephrase feedback as it is not true that I cancelled it. They have now said I am bothering them with my messages and they consider the case to be closed and are threatening to report me to ebay for harassment when ebay asked me to contact them. I could understand justified negative feedback but not lies of me cancelling the order when I didn't. Help anyone please?   ... View more

I had someone bid £106 on a vintage jacket I'm selling. I e-mailed them as I only had it listed as domestic deliveries & they were in the US so I said I would need to add postage on top to the US. I also noticed the e-mail address is different to the name and address on the eBay account. Then they asked me how much is the price, which is weird as it was them who placed the bid. I told them they had bid £106 and then they said they they are purchasing the item as a gift planning on paying an additional £200 for me to help purchase a gift card & help ship it to their cousin's address. They also said they will reward me £50 for my honesty. Not sure what that means. But that would mean they are now paying £356 plus costs for gift card and postage. I just asked them to confirm where it is they want me to send it & now they're saying it's a UK address I need to send it too, but they didn't send me the address even though I asked for it. They seem to want to pay me before they give me the address. Does this sound dodgy? Unsure whether to go ahead with it.  ... View more

I've used EBay for many years and am proud of my 100% score as a buyer and seller.   Recently I won an auction item in which the seller, who had a long membership and 100% score,  stated delivery would be by 48 hour courier in his ad wording. However, under the EBay item section delivery stated as economy delivery! I'd paid £9.99 for delivery. I paid for the item and postage on 23rd February, just minutes after the auction had finished. EBay later informed me that the item had been dispatched on 25th February, but no tracking details were posted, not even the courier used. The estimated delivery date was 2nd March.   Friday 2nd March came and went with no sign of the item, so on Monday 5th March I messaged the seller to notify him. On Wednesday 7th I received a short message from the seller to apologise for the parcel lateness and to be told the item would be with me by Friday (9th March).   Again, Friday 9th came and went with no item delivery. I then sent a message to the seller requesting details of the courier he'd used and a receipt or tracking number. I've not received a single reply.   I've now raised an 'item not delivered' case with EBay, but have been told the seller now has until this Friday 12th March to reply and discuss a resolution.   The item is a laptop that I won with no other bidders taking part, so the final price was the sellers relatively low 'starting price'. Having read several EBay forum articles over the past few days, I'm beginning to assume my purchase has not arrived because of one of the following reasons, 1. The seller decided not to post the item because of the low winning bid (unlikely if the seller accepted my payment and was telling the truth that I would receive it by Friday 9th March). 2. The seller did not confirm he had sent the item by 48 hour courier as stated in the ad, so I assume it was probably sent by 2nd class economy I.e. Royal Mail. 3. Royal Mail may have withheld the parcel if the seller did not inform them it contained a laptop with internal lithium battery! 4. The COVID restrictions have caused 2nd class parcels to take longer than 3 days!   I did have a very similar EBay purchase many years ago when after wining an item at the sellers starting price, the seller didn't post the item and simply refunded my payment via PayPal with no communication what so ever.   At the moment it's just annoying not knowing where the item is and who has it.
