Hello,   I am looking for some advice: we bought an old schoolhouse which was advertised as a potential summerhouse/office garden/gym. It was made clear on the advert that the buyer was responsible for dismantle and transportation.    I emailed the seller before I bid and he confirmed that he was okay to wait for weeks for us to arrange collection.   Once we bought the building, we regularly updated the seller with our plans to engage builders/hauliers etc and our initial discussions with trades people were promising. However, when it came to it, various builders advised us that the project was untenable: because of the age of the building, once it was dismantled, much of it would be unusable again (electrics, insulation, rotten woodwork). The cost of disposing the unusable materials was likely to be more than the value of the materials kept. So, we have explained to the seller that the costs have spiralled to the extent that we no longer want the building. Taking account of the fact that he has had to wait for weeks (about 7 weeks), we asked for a partial refund of our £1,500. He has responded by saying that he will readvertise the building and, if he sells it quickly, he will give us a partial refund. Is this fair? What are we entitled to?    Thank you, Mary ... Hope somebody can advise please.Sold and posted item Royal Mail Int'l tracked and signed from UK to USA on 15 May 2021.Tracking on 21 May showed stuck at ISC Chicago (USPS Blackspot).US Buyer impatient and suggests I refund which I am willing to do,BUT should item reach him AFTER he receives my refund,what mechanism is there for him to pay me again should he wish to keep the item? Now that we have lost the excellent, and infintely superior way of paying or being paid PayPal, we now have all the delays and hassels caused by EBay taking days to clear payments and then delays for your bank to clear the funds. IN the good old days all this was done, instantly, with one press of a mouse button to PayPal Now, today, I had a mail from EBay to see my May invoice, clicked, then had to download on a seperate page, then got a PDF which I had to open then got to see my £0.00 balance! I have had several calls with EBay, a challenge in itself, complaining re the end of using PayPal, in every case the call taker was in agreement with me that this is a truly **bleep** system replacing a near perfect one. I am therefore stopping using Ebay for selling, there are others whichy are infintely simpler to use, use PayPal, and are much faster. So, goodbye EBay it was good before it was screwed around with, there's an expression which may help..........If it aint broke, don't fix it! ... View more

I hate the new layout. For years after they messed it up the first time, at least we had the option of continuing to use the classic view. Now they've broken it even more and doing anything on the site takes far too many mouse clicks and a lot of guessing on how to navigate the site.
