Hi there,
I am not sure what's the deal here...
I bought a DVD set (The Three Stooges Ultimate Collection DVD 20 Discs ) to a seller from Germany. Okay... the thing is when it arrived , the set was fake as a £3 note... The labels on the dvds was impresed with an horrible quality, the original box comes in a cardboard box and inside it has all the dvds in separate black plastic boxes with their info sheets. Well, this one brings NOTHING! except a fat clear plastic box with the 20 DVDs. No need to say that I put one of those cds in my computer to analise it... No protection, no region lock (supposedly should be region 1 ). Archives are from a few months ago (the set is from 2012 and never was re-release. Of course, I request a return (which was accepted) but at the same time I reported the item/ seller to ebay (this seller has another accounts as they are all in the same style...same words, same pics, same country, same city) with pics as proof.
Of course, I appealed... and again , the same message "didn’t find the listing to be in violation of our policy"
The only option available is "report counterfeit item" so, I didn't do any mistake selecting the options to report the item...
Don't know, see the pics by yourself...

all you can do is 4 full days after opening the not as described case escalate it to eBay if the seller has not provided you with a prepaid returns label.

ebay aren't interested in reports of counterfeit DVDs (unless it's by the copyright holder).
I report 1 or 2 every 6 months or so, just to see if anything has changed - and (always) no action is taken.

the seller, gave me the labels and the item is in its way.... but that is not the point of this message... the point is eBay says a thing and does another.
eBay invite us to report counterfeits BUT THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING AGAIST THEIR POLICY? even when you send pics of the fake item?

So , Sony should report it on eBay to make move this people?

If Sony reported it and threatened legal action, it's possible ebay might take notice.

@sebalberico the seller appears to have had the neg you left for them removed as well. That was how I identified them yesterday but now it's gone. Do you think this pirate DVD seller is really Bucherer, the high end German watch dealer? Maybe that's the way to go next.

What happened:
We looked into your report and didn’t find the listing to be in violation of our policy. This determination was made by a customer service agent.
If you reported content that isn’t listed below, we’ll send a separate email once we’ve made a decision.
Here are the listings you reported that are included in this decision:
Item: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx The Three Stooges Ultimate Collection DVD 20 Discs English Box"
This is now the standard canned answer that (as far as I can tell from what others have related on these message boards) will be recieved in response to pretty much any report sent to ebay about any listing that contravenes either their own policies or indeed the law.
It is a waste of effort bothering to report anything nowadays; ebay do absolutely sweet fanny adams about any of them.
All I can say is that if you think there are a lot of counterfeit items for sale on ebay, go and have a look on Vinted - it's absolutely awash!
