Blocked Buyer?

I'm having a bit of a ding dong with a seller, and because I definitely do not want to buy from him again I messaged him the url for blocking buyers (hoping he took the hint). How do I know if a seller has blocked me? How do I know if he selected not to receive messages from me? He stopped replying to my messages, but it could be for two reasons : 1.) he has blocked my messages or 2.) he has a temper tantrum, thrown his toys out of the pram and is choosing to ignore me.

There is no blocked sellers list, so what's the best way to guarantee I don't accidentally buy from a bad seller whom I have had previous trouble with?

It's not possible to block messages from people  you've been in a recent transaction with.    You wouldn't know they've blocked your bids until you tried to bid.   

You can't put a blanket block on a seller but you can exclude them from your searches.   Using Advanced Search (top right of any My eBay page, next to the blue search button), put in your keyword then scroll down to "Sellers" , tick "Only show items from", change 'include' to 'exclude' and put in their ID.  Then click on the blue search tab at the bottom.
