How about an RT poll?
No reasons, no argument, no debate just a straightforward IN or OUT.
Me? OUT.

Despite my personal views on this matter, I do indeed respect everybody's right to a free choice.........no bullying !! However, with that choice should come repercussions.......good or bad. Unfortunately, any bad repercussions tend to fall on those that would not have had it the way they were forced to accept.......I think democracy is the word. Like people who go climbing, in the height of winter, of their own free will and then get into trouble; others put their lives in danger to rescue them..........when really they should die in the mountains.......exactly where their own free will put them.

Remiss of me, using the original spelling from which it was derived
Word Origin and History for mettle
1580s, variant spelling of metal, both forms used interchangeably (by Shakespeare and others) in the literal sense and in the figurative one of "stuff of which a person is made" (1550s) until the spellings and senses diverged early 18c.
16-05-2016 8:49 PM
Understood Totally agree with your analogy and good of you to throw the Wise one a quick synopsis on the rights and rights of the word Metal. I feel a little less guilty now, as opposed to "at this moment in time"

We're in 2016 now, not 1550.

BRITAIN’S flocks are at risk of being devastated by an enormous wolf, David Cameron has warned.
The prime minister came running in from the grassy hillock where he sits keeping watch over the country, breathlessly warning of the huge carnivore which only he has seen.
Cameron said: “The wolf is heading toward the UK from Norway, where it’s flattening towns and throwing tanks and fighter planes around like chew toys.
“It’s 50 metres tall and planning to swim across the North Sea and eat all the sheep and then all the people in Britain.
“Luckily I have a plan to defeat it. I’ll need 5,000 pounds of sausages, a helicopter and everyone must vote to stay in the EU, for reasons I’ll explain later.
“I can’t divulge my plan without losing the element of surprise but the wolf will be completely destroyed so there won’t be any pictures or anything.”
MP Boris Johnson said: “We’re far more likely to be attacked by giant radioactive frogs sent by the French.”
16-05-2016 9:57 PM
Well I know the Frog thing is a load of baloney, none of the Frogs in France have got any legs left.
20-05-2016 1:53 PM
Hmmm, frogs eh? Did you read about the woman who killed her husband by whacking him on the head with a stone frog?
Anyway, all the in/out claims and counter claims are beginning to look like it'll put people off voting rather than encourage them one way or another?
I think a lot of people won't have any real idea of the issues involved and, if they vote at all, will just look at it as a gamble as to which side will "win".

Has anyone watched 'Brexit.the Movie' ? An interesting insight into how Brussels works. It's on YouTube if anyone fancies watching it.

Anyone see Jeremy Paxman's TV programme on BBC last night, regarding Brussels ? If I was undecided, I certainly am not now. A megalithic conglomeration of buildings covering an area the size of a small town, full of insignificant nobodies, all entrenched in bureaucratic and inane nonsense. Lots of kissy kissy, champagne, canapè and caviar buffets, jollies and jauntings, shuffling and moving around of papers, the traipsing up and down of corridors (and not even a clip-board in sight), and no doubt all of these thousands of ant-like comedy characters on a monthly salary that would choke a Tyrannosaurus.
What a bunch of self-important, self-elected, self-governing, and prehistoric fossils. The feeling of claustrophobia was overwhelming.
Out, out, out, by the nearest available exit !

Addendum.
The only interesting person I spotted on there with a bit of character and fire, was Nigel Farage.

I think its hugely impressive to see so many posters coming OUT on here

Love that CeeDee! The one I watched is the Philip Hunt one...an hour and 11 minutes long, and very informative. I also watched Jeremy Paxman's programme last night, also very good. The only people that the EU is good for are the people who work there. They even have their own shopping mall that the ordinary '**bleep**'..(my words!) are not allowed to enter. All built with our money. It's outrageous!
Still definitely OUT! And trying to educate my grandchildren to vote OUT.

Lets go back to how it used to be.

On the local news yesterday, it was reported that a pie manufacturer in the north east had received a directive from the EU buffoons, on what size the font on his wrappers should be.
Since we're doing applause on here, that must be worth a round.

Ironic, isn't it, that the monopolies commission won't let companies get too big; or dominate any particular section of the market place, because it's not in the best interests of the consumer..................however a " Super State " doesn't seem to be a problem. Gawd struth......people really know how to take stupidity to a whole new level.

The pithy Jeremy Paxman BBC programme about the European Union (EU), mentioned above, is now also on YouTube (link below).
The blurb from the Radio Times on the programme:
"Who Really Rules Us? How is that fabled Brussels "Red Tape" created? Who stalks the corridors of EU power, and what do they think of potential Brexit? Jeremy Paxman is the man to answer these and other questions as he delivers an up-close look at the inner workings of a bureaucracy that has shaped Westminster politics for decades. In the referendum debate, floating voters often claim to want more facts about our relationship with Europe and how it might change. There may be no such thing, but Paxman promises to probe the convictions of key figures on both sides of the argument and perhaps find clarity." (Radio Times, 19may2016 P102)
"Jeremy Paxman travels to the EU's headquarters in Brussels to find out how the union's decisions are made. He explores the full spectrum of opinion on whether the the UK should remain in the EU or leave, and meets key political figures who put forward their arguments. He also asks how our relationship with Europe could change, whatever the outcome of the referendum." (Radio Times 19may2016 P104)

Not just pie manufacturers in the North East but all manufacturers of prepared foodstuffs.
Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 specifies minimum font sizes for the list of ingredients on the packaging - no bad thing in my opinion - some lists are printed in such tiny fonts they are virtually impossible to read - comes into effect in December this year.
