In the paper they are saying that two cat owners have caught tuberculosis from their cats !
The bacterium was detected in nine cats from different homes in Berkshire and Hampshire and that the two cases are the first ever recorded of feline to human transmissionof the disease.

True you did not but when you said it gets transferred back it sounded very much like it had happened before and you had read it somewhere or heard of it happening.

Wonder why it has took a year for this to be reported and this is not country wide Berkshire I believe it was reported that a vets cat in Berkshire was infected. This is Bovine TB believed to be caught from cattle, badgers and small rodents.

read my post again please ! at no time did I state you said it had been reported ! I said it sounded like you had read it or heard it somewhere. Also I did not state you knew more than the authorities ! I said they should stand corrected if what they said was wrong because I was only repeating what they said. Lastly please point out to me where I said anything about this country other than stating the obvious fact that the authorities had said in the paper that these cases were in Berkshire and Hampshire ! I at no point said you said anything about this country.

Possibly it was not reported earlier just in case it brought upon wide spread unfounded panic and people wanting cats culled if they were found wandering outdoors.
In total nine cats were found to be carrying mycobacterium bovis between December 2012 and April 2013. Only two people caught TB with another two having latent TB.

I am very surprised at that statistic EMB ! I thought it would have been much lower as we are meant to be a nation of animal lovers.

A policeman in the big city stops a man in a car with a Siberian Lynx in the front seat. "What are you doing with that Siberian Lynx?" He exclaimed, "You should take it to the zoo." The following week, the same policeman sees the same man with the cat again in the front seat, with both of them wearing sunglasses. The policeman pulls him over. "I thought you were going to take that cat to the zoo!" The man replied, "I did. We had such a good time we are going to the beach this weekend!"
