Ebay have removed one of my listings, a Shimano Ultegra Chainset. Ebay have said that my product does not meet the "product safety policy" because the chainset has been "recalled".
They helpfully sent a link to the Shimano website article which concerned an "inspection and replacement program" started by Shimano in Oct 2023, due to problems with some of the chainsets. However it seems like someone in Ebay didn't read the article properly, as it states that products identified by certain listed serial number letters should be inspected by a Shimano dealer, and only if the defect is found will they be replaced. Shimano do not mention "product recall" at all.
I have had my chainset checked and it has passed the inspection. I appealed the original decision but my appeal was rejected.
Has anyone else had this problem? There must be an awful lot of Shimano Ultegra chainsets out there as its a popular make and model.
