Anyone else experiencing this? There have been no Royal Mail tracking updates on eBay for anything dispatched on October 6th and 7th. The tracking works fine on the Royal Mail website, but on eBay it looks like it hasn't even been sent yet and still says to "Post by Mon 6 Oct".

Hi Kat
thanks for the update.
Some of our Fully tracked ones are now updating, but have noticed none of the normal RM48s are (not fully tracked but have Delivery Confirmations only when scanned at point of delivery). Normally these do show on ebay as Delivered when royal mail does.
Can you just make sure your technical team also have these in hand as well as the fully tracked ones.
thank you

Thank you for the update Kat, however does this mean that eBay will retroactively add in automated positive feedback for all items that are backfilled?

I have sent two orders out using Royal Mail direct, and currently there is not option to load tracing numbers onto the eBay sellers site, Consequently I am being given a not posted yet notice on my account. Both customers were notified of the item being sent and the relevant tracking numbers. Please advise.

The issue is with royal mail itself not pushing date to ebay and other 3rd party companies. We are using a company who uses RM, EVRI, DHL , all tracking working apart from royal mail. They are also contacted royal mail but no resolution yet.

Having to manually click through the the Royal Mails website to check all the tracking is annoying as I find that their website rate limits you if you track too many parcels in a short time. It obviously think your a bot or trying to DDOS them or something and the tracking page just doesn't do anything until you leave it for a minute and try again.

Its a start

Thanks for the update, Kat.
I note your last sentence about labels purchased on Ebay.
Wasn't there recently a different issue / glitch concerning Royal mail postage labels bought online?
I believe I saw a thread on these boards recently.
I hope this particular glitch is not a precursor to Ebay forcing sellers to buy their postage labels through Ebay.
I don't use my phone for anything other than calls and messaging and I don't wish to use a printer.
Also, the Post Office is a 5 minute walk from my house and delivering my parcels there is way more convenient and time-saving than having them collected, as I am out and about trying to buy stock the rest of the time.
Recent changes in the way Dispatch & Tracking is recorded and reported on Ebay seem to have met no end of glitches and unforeseen problems.
I hope the glitch discussed on this thread is resolved permanently and does not lead to any more back door changes in the process of posting parcels.

Although the fully tracked RM services are now updating, none of the RM48 standard Delivery Confirmation only scans have updated to DELIVERED for orders since 6th October . Are these going to back fill as suggested by KAT
Dont know if this is just going to take time or Ebay tech team has forgotten these require doing as well.
Getting very close now to the 20th of month performance figures rollover when we will have to fight our case why figures dived (especially as it appears many Customer Support Agents dont even know about this issue.

Nearly all of my RM 48 Tracked (no signature) have now updated to delivered, these seem to be coming through in waves.

Yes, i am having same issues. Royal mail tracking does not get updated on Ebay, it is causing huge issue and make buyers open many "item not received" requests.

I'll let everyone know something here.
Our "tracking" hadnt been working for 3 months or so. I had spoken to lots of eBay CS, posted on the weekly chat and so forth - to no response apart from "the system is working as designed".
So this caused lots of unscrupulous buyers to file INR claims as they thought they could get a cheeky freebie. This caused us to call us eBay CS on a daily basis to close these cases manually.
However, the sheer number of INR claims in a month period (now all of these were closed in our favour as tracking showed items had been delivered or buyers admitted they had the item) caused eBay T&S to "look" into our account. We had our account payments suspended, and we were told the only way to resolve this was to refund all outstanding INR claims - irrespective of if tracking showed the items had been delivered, what the status was, whether the buyer admitted they had the item. We had no option, it was this or work for eBay for free. They then informed us that we had to fill in "missing tracking numbers" which was in the hundreds, which took more time.
Now none of this was our fault. eBay's systems were and are broken and eBay forced us to pay out hundreds of pounds in refunds not to mention the loss in earnings due to eBay's "suspension". We've shouted long and loud about this issue for months but to no avail. We did everything eBay asked and they admitted that there wasnt an issue with our account, it just looked like it because of the high number of false INR (to which tracking showed them as false claims).
I cannot stress strongly enough to sellers on here. If you are having issues, contact eBay CS, shout long and hard before they take action against you. Fill in your tracking manually if you have to (as we're still having to do)
I'm letting you know what happened to us, so that it may not happen to you.

Hi, I am a business seller and have encountered the same problems. I have weekly sales with around 20 to 30 lots and total values around £1,200 to £1,500 using Tracked 48, 24 and special delivery services. I exclusively use Royal Mail and buy all my postage directly on their website (far too many problems with ebay's own services). I too have not seen any tracking info on ebay since October 6th and yet all my packages were delivered with 1 to 3 days and confirmed on the Royal Mail site. ebay's message on their in-house tracking states that "they are having problems connecting to the couriers website". This is a really serious (and obviously widespread) issue that has persisted for at least 10 days now. Worse still is that all my payments are on hold and ebay already owe me over £1,500 with damaging cash-flow implications (most of my items already have positive feedback - so all the payout rules are met). 3 days ago 1 small payment was released - so I thought that this issue was being corrected but all my other items including a few special delivery packages worth over £300 are still on hold. I shall now telephone ebay as they are letting us all down very badly. David Morley (jc53*)

Hi, thank you for your comments.
I spoke to a Trust and Safety agent at ebay yesterday afteroon who was sympathetic and helpful. She explained that the technical problem is at their end and affects them linking to tracking updates from Royal Mail and a number of other couriers. Their tech team have been working on this for 2 weeks but there is no current indication of when things will be fully resolved.
She manually updated all my delayed items and my funds on hold were immediately released. She said that she will ensure that my items are manually updated every week until the issue is resolved.
I also told her that ebay must provide an announcement on this issue immediately to keep all members informed and then provided frequent updates. She has passed my comments on to those responsible for overseeing this but we shall see if ebay decide to follow through.
These days, despite all the modern communication methods, far too many large companies (including ebay) try to hide behind many of these types of issues and simply ignore their customers.

Ebay should not make any announcement as it'll just encourage *that* percentage of buyers to file a "cheeky claim" in the hope of getting a refund and INR cases site wide will rocket

At the eBay open there was an announcement about INR protections.
‘We’ve heard from you, our sellers, that one of the biggest frustrations is when delivery delays lead to Item Not Received (INR) claims and unexpected refunds - only for the item to show up days later. This is why, starting in November, eBay will introduce a new improvement to enhance trust and reduce friction from these premature INR claims.
What’s changing?
Before: Seller issues a refund to close an INR case. If the parcel is delivered later, the seller will not recover their refund and it will be lost.
From November 2025: If tracking shows delivered within 30 days after a seller has refunded, eBay will reimburse the item cost and remove any negative or neutral feedback directly linked to the claim and regarding delivery.
You qualify automatically when you meet the following criteria:
This helps ensure sellers aren’t penalised for delays outside their control, and reinforces our commitment to standing behind sellers who do the right thing. ’
I can’t help but think this tracking issue has something to do with the policy that you have to purchase through labels through eBay.
It’s not a process that I will adopt, many reasons including accounting and time sucking compared to the RM website.
I might be off the mark, and conspiracy thinking, thought I’d put out there though.

And finally, after 11 days, we have an announcement.
17-10-2025 3:35 PM
This is what it says when i try to track my item,
"We're having difficulties connecting to this carrier for tracking updates. Please visit the carrier website for the latest tracking status".
So basicaly if tracking doesn't update, ebay robot will give me automated late delivery defect ??
I then hope when i appeal through thier automated system it will get removed and i wait two weeks to get paid.
The catagory i sold my item through wasn't with SD and i posted the item via Tracked 48. i still uploaded the tracking detail so that i get paid sooner. now I regret uploading the tracking details.

I was under the impression from the announcement at the following link that the issue had been fixed:
Having entered today's tracking numbers, several hours later there are still no tracking updates showing on eBay. I'll wait until tomorrow morning and post back. If it is working like they said (fingers crossed), then the updates are certainly not "near real-time" as the announcement stated.
How is it going for everyone else, has this been fixed for you?
