Hi everyone, I'd appreciate your help with a return request. I sold a pair of shoes for £100 inc. postage on 14th April. The parcel was delivered on 20th April, so I guess they're (just) within the 30 day window. They've sent a message stating that they'd worn the shoes for 1 week and the shoes 'broke in each side in the same condition when I received them'. The reason for the request is 'Doesn't seem authentic'. I know that the shoes are 100% authentic. It has almost been a month since they received the shoes, and they've now broken them after wearing them for a week. Am I obliged to accept the request and issue a label? It seems that I have no other option. eBay Live Chat suggested that I ignore the request and raise a dispute after 8 days, but I've read that this almost always goes in the buyer's favour - and I won't be able to then get the item back. I've messaged the buyer to ask for more information and photos of the damage - but I've not received a reply. I have photos of the item as it was being packaged, and another photo of the parcel itself. What do you suggest please? Do I just accept the request and send a label? It doesn't seem very fair that I can be held liable for the buyer breaking the item, and getting away with it by claiming that the item is not authentic. Thanks.
