yes its here simple delivery starts on the 15th of april

just recieved this from e bay

so as from the 15th you need to either have a printer i pad or smartphone to take a photo of the QR code take that to the post office to send your parcel with nevri or royal fail.

so if you sell 1 item say monday you do the above ..if you sell another item monday night/tuesday you repeat the process by marching to the post office on tuesday so on and so forth.

and if you have multiple parcels you must write the tracking number on each one as unlike evri royal mail QR codes dont have a id number on them.

oh and dont get any bright ideas about well i,ll only go every other day or once a week as it will take longer to get paid for your item...f*** me backwards now i,ve heard it all...😂😂 🤣

so to summerise boys.. and girls you spend every day packing and marching to and from the post office if you live out in the sticks and dont have a local post office ...PASS... the alternertive is to invest in a printer.

HOWEVER

if you are a B/S this doesnt apply to you just carry on as normal paying 35p a listing.

e bay is quiet now is this a ruse to finally out the private sellers or could this be a premonition of what is to come later in the year.. compulsory conversion to a business sellers account or find your e bay account restricted to a buyers only account or just closed down or the last of the remaining private sellers vanish to vinted, facebook or other selling sites or just give up ghost .

Hi andrew,

We’re continuing our mission to provide you with a great selling experience on eBay, which is why we made it free to sell. Now, we’re enhancing delivery so it’s faster, easier, and more secure for you to send your items.

Starting from 15 April, Simple Delivery will be the only delivery method available for private sellers when listing most items. There’ll be a few exceptions, such as low-priced, bulky items, and local pick-up, which aren’t eligible for Simple Delivery.

What is Simple Delivery?

Simple Delivery is our all-in-one delivery solution, designed to cut out all of the effort and save you money. It’s also the fastest way to get paid on eBay. Plus, buyers will benefit from savings and enjoy the peace of mind that tracking offers. Here’s how it works:

  • 1.

When listing, we’ll recommend the size and weight of your item. Just confirm and we’ll do the rest.

  • 2.

Once your item sells, you won’t need to worry about buying a postage label. Instead, you’ll receive a QR code and prepaid printable label so you can choose what’s easiest.

  • 3.

Drop off your item at the nearest carrier location, or schedule a home collection and you’re done!

You’ll still be able to choose the carriers by going to Postage Preferences in your account settings. We recommend enabling all carriers for the most competitive postage rates.

Benefits of Simple Delivery

Simple Delivery offers a faster and easier experience:

  • Save 20% off postage costs*: Get competitive rates to offer standard and express delivery with Royal Mail and Evri.

  • Full protection: Enjoy peace of mind with eBay's full coverage for items lost or damaged in transit, where we handle claims with buyers so you don’t have to.

  • Free postage option: Choose if you want your buyer to pay for the label, or offer free postage and cover the cost.

  • Prepaid and tracked labels: Labels come with automatic tracking, so buyers always know where their items are, and you get your funds faster.

  • Flexible labels: Use a QR code for quick printing at drop-off locations, or easily print your own label at home.

  • Positive feedback: From late April, you’ll automatically receive positive feedback for tracked transactions delivered on time, where no feedback has been left within 7 days and no issues are reported, so you get the recognition you deserve. Learn more about this change.

Simple Delivery will apply to new eligible listings by private sellers in the UK, and from 7 April to any existing listings that are eligible. If you selected buyer-paid postage, this will stay the same when your listings are updated. If you’re covering the costs, they’ll be deducted from your sales. Click the button below to see what’s eligible.

We’re also updating our User Agreement and eBay delivery Terms and Conditions to reflect these changes. If you have any questions or concerns, just get in touch from the bottom of this page—we’re here to help.

Thanks for being part of the eBay community.

We don't need another thread on this. There are a number of established threads already.

Interrested to find out what they mean by "There’ll be a few exceptions, such as low-priced". They haven't mentioned what low-priced is as far as I can see.

Do point me to a post where a seller is saying "Isn't simple delivery brilliant!".

We all got the same email and we're all in the same boat.

You now insult the great Stevie Wonder, what do you have against the blind or partially sighted? Yes there are many threads on the subject of "Simple Delivery" and do you know why einstein? because people are pi^^ed-off with more retrospective (distopian as one contributor wrote) selling rules that have hit sellers in the past few months.

You need a comma in this sentence since you have two independent clauses.

I fear for some that  when eBay eventually announce what is low priced and what category, many sellers will have packed it in with eBay.

boo hoo! Let eBay see that there are many unhappy sellers and let them flood the boards. That way (maybe) eBay will sit up and smell the coffee.

We don't need another thread on this, but if there's a tsunami of threads and posts, maybe, just maybe, someone on Planet Ebay will get a clue that people on Earth are revolting.

Er, let me rephrase that...

'Ebay will get a clue that people on Earth are revolting.'

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, some of them certainly 😂😂

But anyway...... I don't think they'll listen, apart from laughing at us all panicking ..

I think I've been a bit too optimistic up until very recently with trying to see the (small) good side of all of ebay changes.

I've been trying to view them as a business making businesslike decisions to make more profit, streamline etc etc.

But I'm becoming convinced that I was wrong and ebay do actually want to get rid of private sellers but are just to cowardly to say so.

Jamie thingy wants ebay to be High-end, Luxury sales; that doesn't chime well with private sellers of second hand stuff....

If you're serious, that's when you see so many posts you hit helpful and the forum software thinks you're flooding it.  It's difficult because right now there are so many outraged posts that we can agree with...

That is helpful. Why does this info not appear on the FAQ about Simpleton Delivery?
