yes its here simple delivery starts on the 15th of april

just recieved this from e bay

so as from the 15th you need to either have a printer i pad or smartphone to take a photo of the QR code take that to the post office to send your parcel with nevri or royal fail.

so if you sell 1 item say monday you do the above ..if you sell another item monday night/tuesday you repeat the process by marching to the post office on tuesday so on and so forth.

and if you have multiple parcels you must write the tracking number on each one as unlike evri royal mail QR codes dont have a id number on them.

oh and dont get any bright ideas about well i,ll only go every other day or once a week as it will take longer to get paid for your item...f*** me backwards now i,ve heard it all...😂😂 🤣

so to summerise boys.. and girls you spend every day packing and marching to and from the post office if you live out in the sticks and dont have a local post office ...PASS... the alternertive is to invest in a printer.

HOWEVER

if you are a B/S this doesnt apply to you just carry on as normal paying 35p a listing.

e bay is quiet now is this a ruse to finally out the private sellers or could this be a premonition of what is to come later in the year.. compulsory conversion to a business sellers account or find your e bay account restricted to a buyers only account or just closed down or the last of the remaining private sellers vanish to vinted, facebook or other selling sites or just give up ghost .

Hi andrew,

We’re continuing our mission to provide you with a great selling experience on eBay, which is why we made it free to sell. Now, we’re enhancing delivery so it’s faster, easier, and more secure for you to send your items.

Starting from 15 April, Simple Delivery will be the only delivery method available for private sellers when listing most items. There’ll be a few exceptions, such as low-priced, bulky items, and local pick-up, which aren’t eligible for Simple Delivery.

What is Simple Delivery?

Simple Delivery is our all-in-one delivery solution, designed to cut out all of the effort and save you money. It’s also the fastest way to get paid on eBay. Plus, buyers will benefit from savings and enjoy the peace of mind that tracking offers. Here’s how it works:

  • 1.

When listing, we’ll recommend the size and weight of your item. Just confirm and we’ll do the rest.

  • 2.

Once your item sells, you won’t need to worry about buying a postage label. Instead, you’ll receive a QR code and prepaid printable label so you can choose what’s easiest.

  • 3.

Drop off your item at the nearest carrier location, or schedule a home collection and you’re done!

You’ll still be able to choose the carriers by going to Postage Preferences in your account settings. We recommend enabling all carriers for the most competitive postage rates.

Benefits of Simple Delivery

Simple Delivery offers a faster and easier experience:

  • Save 20% off postage costs*: Get competitive rates to offer standard and express delivery with Royal Mail and Evri.

  • Full protection: Enjoy peace of mind with eBay's full coverage for items lost or damaged in transit, where we handle claims with buyers so you don’t have to.

  • Free postage option: Choose if you want your buyer to pay for the label, or offer free postage and cover the cost.

  • Prepaid and tracked labels: Labels come with automatic tracking, so buyers always know where their items are, and you get your funds faster.

  • Flexible labels: Use a QR code for quick printing at drop-off locations, or easily print your own label at home.

  • Positive feedback: From late April, you’ll automatically receive positive feedback for tracked transactions delivered on time, where no feedback has been left within 7 days and no issues are reported, so you get the recognition you deserve. Learn more about this change.

Simple Delivery will apply to new eligible listings by private sellers in the UK, and from 7 April to any existing listings that are eligible. If you selected buyer-paid postage, this will stay the same when your listings are updated. If you’re covering the costs, they’ll be deducted from your sales. Click the button below to see what’s eligible.

We’re also updating our User Agreement and eBay delivery Terms and Conditions to reflect these changes. If you have any questions or concerns, just get in touch from the bottom of this page—we’re here to help.

Thanks for being part of the eBay community.

It’s already failing

first time I’ve seen this on a Evri delivery and they don’t know where the package is

says tried to deliver to my locker ?
I don’t have a locker I’m disabled and always only have home delivery.

why when a system works why does some suit think he has a better idea that always screws everything up

if it’s not broken don’t fix it.

been with eBay now since 2002 but this new system is making me rethink where I order from.

Ebay don’t know where the package is and neither do Evri so what now I guess the seller lost out and I don’t get my order ?
simple delivery that doesn’t work already

EBay need to revert back to the old system or seriously rethink this new one

What you should do is contact the seller and ask where your parcel is and what locker it's supposed to be in.  If they don't know ask for a refund or open an INR case for a refund.

Failing that I'd ring the 24 hour buyer help-line and demand that ebay refund you, after all they've created this delivery chaos and presumably you paid the Buyer Protection Fee on your purchase to protect you if your parcel doesn't arrive.

That's not what buyer protection is for.  That's what the MBG is for.

Simple delivery protects the seller in these circumstances, I.e ebay covers the refund.

Ebay wants a slice of the postage fees. so they have made a deal with Royal Mail & Evri.

They say its "free" to sell on ebay but make no allowance for PACKING materials in the new "simple delivery" costs --  ( Envelopes / Bubblewrap /Selotape/Brown Tape etc)....so it's not "free"  to the seller.

i have "make an offer" on all my items and i have noticed that buyers now make offers which expect me to cover their fees..

so the buyer pays less for postage  but the seller has to cover the packing costs and more often than not the buyer fees.

WOULD IT NOT JUST BE SIMPLER TO CHARGE THE SELLER A FEE FOR SELLING THEIR ITEM and leave it the way it F*****g Was !

i know another firm who used to charge for "protection" ..

the guy in charge was AL Capone.......

Whatever, my point is that the buyer should be able to get a refund under one set of letters or another.

You just need to open an 'Item hasn't arrived' claim under eBay's Money Back Guarantee as you would have done previously.  The only difference is that eBay will now be responsible for the refund instead of the seller, assuming the seller actually used the Simple Delivery label.

Perhaps they have, but like ebay have so often done in the past, They Just Don't Care...do it our way or you have a choice...just leave.

You need a comma in this sentence since you have two independent clauses.

Actually I would say in "all fairness" to ebay (tongue in cheek moment) they have given sellers two choices 🤔, either become a business seller or leave....I know, not much choice there. "Heads you lose, Tails you lose.
