yes its here simple delivery starts on the 15th of april

just recieved this from e bay

so as from the 15th you need to either have a printer i pad or smartphone to take a photo of the QR code take that to the post office to send your parcel with nevri or royal fail.

so if you sell 1 item say monday you do the above ..if you sell another item monday night/tuesday you repeat the process by marching to the post office on tuesday so on and so forth.

and if you have multiple parcels you must write the tracking number on each one as unlike evri royal mail QR codes dont have a id number on them.

oh and dont get any bright ideas about well i,ll only go every other day or once a week as it will take longer to get paid for your item...f*** me backwards now i,ve heard it all...😂😂 🤣

so to summerise boys.. and girls you spend every day packing and marching to and from the post office if you live out in the sticks and dont have a local post office ...PASS... the alternertive is to invest in a printer.

HOWEVER

if you are a B/S this doesnt apply to you just carry on as normal paying 35p a listing.

e bay is quiet now is this a ruse to finally out the private sellers or could this be a premonition of what is to come later in the year.. compulsory conversion to a business sellers account or find your e bay account restricted to a buyers only account or just closed down or the last of the remaining private sellers vanish to vinted, facebook or other selling sites or just give up ghost .

Hi andrew,

We’re continuing our mission to provide you with a great selling experience on eBay, which is why we made it free to sell. Now, we’re enhancing delivery so it’s faster, easier, and more secure for you to send your items.

Starting from 15 April, Simple Delivery will be the only delivery method available for private sellers when listing most items. There’ll be a few exceptions, such as low-priced, bulky items, and local pick-up, which aren’t eligible for Simple Delivery.

What is Simple Delivery?

Simple Delivery is our all-in-one delivery solution, designed to cut out all of the effort and save you money. It’s also the fastest way to get paid on eBay. Plus, buyers will benefit from savings and enjoy the peace of mind that tracking offers. Here’s how it works:

  • 1.

When listing, we’ll recommend the size and weight of your item. Just confirm and we’ll do the rest.

  • 2.

Once your item sells, you won’t need to worry about buying a postage label. Instead, you’ll receive a QR code and prepaid printable label so you can choose what’s easiest.

  • 3.

Drop off your item at the nearest carrier location, or schedule a home collection and you’re done!

You’ll still be able to choose the carriers by going to Postage Preferences in your account settings. We recommend enabling all carriers for the most competitive postage rates.

Benefits of Simple Delivery

Simple Delivery offers a faster and easier experience:

  • Save 20% off postage costs*: Get competitive rates to offer standard and express delivery with Royal Mail and Evri.

  • Full protection: Enjoy peace of mind with eBay's full coverage for items lost or damaged in transit, where we handle claims with buyers so you don’t have to.

  • Free postage option: Choose if you want your buyer to pay for the label, or offer free postage and cover the cost.

  • Prepaid and tracked labels: Labels come with automatic tracking, so buyers always know where their items are, and you get your funds faster.

  • Flexible labels: Use a QR code for quick printing at drop-off locations, or easily print your own label at home.

  • Positive feedback: From late April, you’ll automatically receive positive feedback for tracked transactions delivered on time, where no feedback has been left within 7 days and no issues are reported, so you get the recognition you deserve. Learn more about this change.

Simple Delivery will apply to new eligible listings by private sellers in the UK, and from 7 April to any existing listings that are eligible. If you selected buyer-paid postage, this will stay the same when your listings are updated. If you’re covering the costs, they’ll be deducted from your sales. Click the button below to see what’s eligible.

We’re also updating our User Agreement and eBay delivery Terms and Conditions to reflect these changes. If you have any questions or concerns, just get in touch from the bottom of this page—we’re here to help.

Thanks for being part of the eBay community.

Re: yes its here simple delivery starts on the 15th of april

I just had my first interaction with this nonsense...

I cannot change the dimensions or weight of the parcel,  only two choices and but are not good

If I go on the account selling preferences  to OPT-OUT from the SD, you can't,  you still need to chose either EVRI or RM.

AND the shipping they calculate does not include packaging and handling  (not everyone has the luxury of being close to a parcel drop location, not to mention the fact that sometimes certain options are not reliable, i.e. shipping with evri to remote areas or "farm territory"

in the case of my sale I could not even choose between Evri and RM, I was only presented with one option.
I am not really happy.

You can’t add the packaging costs to the item when it’s an auction

Why not?  Just means a slightly higher start price surely?

Re: yes its here simple delivery starts on the 15th of april

No the idea of an Auction is to get the highest price possible, I always
start my Auction low to get more people interested, like if I know
something will fetch £30-£40 I will start at £10, it gets more watchers ,
Also I got a message request, to add extra packing after the item has sold
, so not only no payment for original packaging, no way of charging for the
extra box and padded envelope plus bubble wrap requested by the buyer, so
more cost to myself.

Re: yes its here simple delivery starts on the 15th of april

eBay say that does not matter as they have agreed with Royal Mail and Every
that they must deliver the parcels and then eBay will pay the carrier the
difference, I have an email from eBay confirming this which I will attach

So ebay are punishing sellers (and their buyers) for opting out of a carrier by inflating the cost of the one they keep.

It’s a joke it is designed to slow delivery down so EBay can keep the buyers money longer earning interest on it,  Millions and Millions of pounds paying eBay interest for a couple of extra days, I have questioned it with eBay and they agree Simple Delivery makes mistakes and picks the wrong size and weight but they have guaranteed by email that the Royal Mail and Evri have agreed to still post these items and then they will get reimbursed by eBay, that’s going to be fun at the post office trying to explain that one, EBAY DO NOT LISTEN, EBSY DO NOT CARE , EBAY IS A DICTATORSHIP . THE COMMUNITY HAS TO LIKE IT OR LUMP  IT

And yet the post office are refusing ebay parcels with underpaid postage.

Re: yes its here simple delivery starts on the 15th of april

so after  realizing how bad this is I went through some of my listings:

two porcelain lamps fairly big and delicate I would only post using certain couriers... from 14 quid (what DHL would charge to process and  deliver them)  down to 3.71 with Evri...

Really?

Yes, if they refuse to accept a package with an incorrect postage label the seller can report it to ebay as apparently there is an agreement in place.  Going to be many heated exchanges in post offices!

That as may be, but it doesn’t make it right. It just causes inconvenience for everyone.
How anyone with an ounce of intelligence can think it makes it a simpler system for everyone beggars belief.
My research leads me to believe that the General Manager of eBay, who presumably has some responsibility for the way it operates is a Cambridge graduate. This serves only to confirm my view that those with the highest level of intelligence are not always blessed with much common sense.

Re: yes its here simple delivery starts on the 15th of april

Just been looking at a listing for a thin blouse , that I know will go as a large letter for £2.70 if printed direct from RM , £2.90 at the PO counter , this seller is on SD .. this is what the postage options state : standard tracked ( no carrier named , but we know it is Evri ) at £4.27, express delivery ( again no carrier named but we know it is RM 48 hr tracked ) at £4.50 … crazy what buyer is going to pay that ? I know I would not .. ebay you should be ashamed , claiming that postage will be 20% less …
