eBay help says this about Simple Delivery postage rates for items under £100:
which I was pleased to see had a 2-10kg option at a price that was close to Yodel’s £5.21 that I use a lot. BUT… there is no option for this weight range when you select Simple Delivery for your item, it just goes from up to 2kg to up to 15kg, so making buyers pay nearly £2 more than necessary.
And why are prices cheaper if you select both Evri & RM? Makes no sense that a 1-2kg parcel is £3.71 (which will go with Evri) if you have both selected but £4.06 if you have just Evri. What is going on???

You are totally free to exclude Evri from your listings, under Simple Delivery, which would then give you exactly what you want, "a tracked Royal Mail service which is far more reliable than the other shower"
It may mean you have to pay the "few pence"

Why would i have to pay more for a label than i was paying direct from Royal Mail or indeed as i was paying through eBay Packlink. It doesn't make sense. Guess who might be pocketing the difference?

Hi @ruby*ryan
It should be showing the same for both buyers and sellers.
Can you share both an item number and a screenshot of the message that is shown to you for when a buyer pays and when a seller pays?
Thank you,
Kat

Hi Kat,
I've attached a screen shot of what I see, hopefully this gives you what you want, I'm not the most technically minded.
Unfortunately I can't give you an item number as I only started this as a draft and haven't yet made a live listing using Simple delivery.
I might also add if I have my way I won't make a listing using Simple Delivery as I have been arranging my own postage quite happily and successfully for the past ten years. I was never asked if I wanted eBay to arrange my postage for me and if I had been the answer would have been no.

Thanks for the details & screenshots @barry.110 . Are you able to provide the link to your draft listing?
Thank you,
Kat

I've just checked on one of my drafts, and I also got two different prices for each weight category depending on whether it was buyer or seller paying. As it was a draft I hadn't put an item price in yet, but as soon as I did, I only got one delivery price. The delivery price is higher if the item price is over £100.

Hi Kat,
Hopefully I have sent you a private message with the link. I didn't want to publish it in a public forum, I don't know if anyone could do anything with it but why take a chance.

Hi @barry.110 ,
I have received it so thank you for that. Can you try and input your item price in the draft listing to see if that changes the postage price to show as one same price for both buyer and seller?
Thank you,
Kat

Can you please explain why we can't select the 2-10kg category? There's a 2-10kg category in the table of postage rates that @serendipity2468 posted, but it isn't an option when you go to list an item.
And can you explain why the prices are so much higher than Royal Mail? I've just bought postage for two parcels - one 1kg and one 2kg. The RM Tracked 48 postage is £3.45 for each of these, but on simple delivery I would have had to pay £3.74 and £4.27.

Hi Kat,
I add a price and it did change the postage price so the postage price shown is the same for both buyer and seller. I tried setting it as a auction and a buy it now and both ways the postage price is the same when you enter an item price.

Hi @emw-designs ,
For the prices these are the ones that have been set out by Ebay. We are aware of feedback provided by sellers that the prices are more expensive and this is being shared internally for review.
If the 2-10kg category is available in the table of postage rates then it should be available to select when listing the item. Simple Delivery is mandatory from this week.
@serendipity2468 can you let me know if you have tried to list an item today and you are not able to select the 2-10kg option. Can you share the item number and a screenshot showing the option not available to choose?
Thank you,
Kat

Thank you @emw-designs ,
Can you share the item number or your draft listing for where that list of postage options showed for you?
Thank you,
Kat

Having the 2-10 missing but only a 2-15kg one available makes people pay for the dearer up to 20kg RM bracket ??
Yes, no?

The 2.5 is the height, not the width

I believe that I read this band would be updated on the 16th. As always Simple Delivery is stupid and not fit for purpose.

I get the same, 2-10kg is not available as an option when you list under simple delivery.
I had a 2.5kg item listed last week. As 2-10 kg was not available I had to select 'up to 15kg'
The postage was then charged at £12.35 which generated a tracked 48 label.
Buying a 2.5kg tracked 48 medium parcel direct from Royal Mail online would cost £6.80
When I queried this with customer service we went round in circles. They said the ebay pricing table was out of date. Then they pointed me to royalmail.com to find pricing. Then they said the price table was up to date and that I must have selected 20kg in spite of the fact that if I 'relist' the item it shows 15kg selected.
They were unable to help regarding the unavailability of the 2-10kg band which has been quite a few times on the forum.

Well I’ve put myself on Time Away from tomorrow for a couple of days to see just what chaos ensues (and to check that the correct ‘Simple’ postage has been applied to all my existing items). It scares me that eBay have to ask us to send them screenshots etc when none of us see a 2-10kg band. What sort of test setup do they have if they cannot just replicate existing users setups and see this for themselves.
