Hi I've just received this message contacted ebay and is being sent to everyone
That's me I'm done no more ebay for me bye bye
We are making changes to the way we process payments on eBay. Going forward, we’ll make your funds available for payout within 48 hours after we’ve confirmed delivery of the item. Until then, you’ll see a “hold” on your funds. This process helps keep our marketplace safe.

- Streetfighter-customs - I think EBay staff work from home or are AI, oh that will be the next thing this will all be automated by AI.
Is it better to have a Business account? I did seriously consider starting one up but just feel the site is terribly looking now and don't even like looking at it. The white space gives me a headache and so much advertisement.
Having said that there can be good deals to be made but an awful lot of scammers especially Chinese KOs although some are not too bad.
From now on all items will be sent with tracking number 48 hour Royal mail, honestly for me never had a problem with excessive fees but more the site itself and some of the buyers/sellers are awful people I once saw a seller with the most abusive replies to buyers bordering on the line of racist I nearly bought something of him but decided to checkout his feedback first.
I also don't like Ebay's RED TEXT reminder to "PAY POST KNOW" this to me is the most abusive thing have ever seen on there.

Don't get me started on feedback. I once blocked a seller/buyer based on his abusive feedback and got an abusive message from him in response. I reported him to eBay, not sure they did anything about it.

well a lot of stuff i sell is under £10 with free postage
this is starting to work out impossible
between greedy ebay fees and royal mail they have out priced the free shipping
i am having to charge for postage soon

they dont do nothing
i just block them and tell them to go and see if they can find my product anywhere else

Once Simple Delivery is in place there is no free posting... it is all done on the system and labels purchased from eBay.
They may offer discounts perhaps sometime in the future but this is not guaranteed.
I will never use simple delivery or allow eBay to hold my funds...

i had more abusive customers on amazon though
more scam buyers on amazon
one time i sold a quad copter new in the box
2 weeks later they complained it dont work
so told them to send it back for investigation
the idiot seller only left the memory card in the quadcopter
i played it back it showed them flying it in a front room
and crashing it into a wall
i just sent the footage to amazon and they refused the refund and told me to send it back
and amazon charged them for extra postage

When criminals shop themselves! What a plonker. To be fair, I've had very little trouble with buyers on eBay. Many of them messaged me about the books they are buying and how happy they are to find stuff they are looking for. eBay is crushing that sense of community.

eBay would have let you keep 50% at the most

Read up on the Simple Delivery current terms and the FAQ's... Currently it is Royal Mail and Evri.
Although I imagine these will be changing as they are not fit for purpose at the moment other than clothing perhaps... I am unsure as I have never used it and never will.

I offered/offer at times Free postage and have never raised my prices to absorb the cost.
I class it as a service and a good way to make a sale... that is if anyone "sees" them... as sales have fallen off a cliff with zero this year and my last being early December 😉

Apparently come March Simple Delivery will be " compulsory" - although I cannot see how the current terms now can be implemented for everyone.
You would need to look at " business" options for yourself. I am not a business ... or read posts on here from business sellers or read eBays terms and conditions for businesses?
