Unable to send Invoice or Combine Postage

So usually when I sell multiple items to a buyer I send them an invoice and adjust the postage accordingly - there is no such option there at the moment - there is a link to combine items so I click on that and then try and collate them there and get this message

Sending invoices is temporarily unavailable

 

We're working to fix this issue as soon as possible. In the meantime, if you want to send combined postage discounts, we recommend refunding the postage difference to your buyer after purchase.

Anyone else having issues?

I don't understand what you are trying to say, I guess English isn't your first language.  I'm in UK and I had the combined postage problem trying to send a combined invoice to a buyer in Hong Kong who won 3 different auctions - simple as that!

If your selling preferences are not set up to sell internationally or you did not put the international price on your listing you will not be able to send a invoice . The person I know just sent a invoice , the buyer did send a email requesting it and that was all .

Of course the international price was set on the listing, if it wasn't they wouldn't even be able to see the listing.

Perhaps the 'request total' functionality is still available to international buyers buying from ebay.co.uk sellers, but as described above 'send invoice' from the orders page in my ebay has not worked for ages. To be honest whenever I've tried to explain 'request total' to international buyers who needed to request shipping to a different address I never really got very far! For now my solution if I need to adjust postage after a sale for whatever reason is to ask the buyer to pay full price and then refund the difference which works but is far from ideal.

Yes it is a mess , but at the end off it Ebay are making money on it or they would not do it so why fix it . I spoke to a customer service person who lived the USA the other night and she was trying to tell me how good Simply Delivery is . How does she know , maybe Ebay should try bring the same thing in America and see what happens . Customer services all have the same script to read from .

My guess is the person came up with Simply Delivery does not even no how the UK postal system works so how can they come up with a Ai program which works . Vinted can do with there postal system so is possible . 

At the end off the day it makes money or they would not be making private sellers use it just like the protection fee .

seller option no. but buyerin checkout can .but simple delivery just adjust the weight for one item as ie 1 kilo and if they buy 4 items that puts it up to 4 kilo postal weight instead of 1 kilo x 4 items

I mainly sell CDs which packed are around 150 grams for one.  So will the " Ebay multiplier Weight Issue" rear its head for me selling 5 or 6 CDs to a UK buyer?

Yes but Ebay does not manage the price off international postage because only Simply Delivery is managed which is used in the uk.

International postage is not manged by ebay that is still set by the seller when listing .

Many people are getting confussed between Simply Delivery and custom postage for International shipping they are different . Sellers who sell to Eurpeon countries will put a flat rate on there listing like my friend does and if the charge is to high they will refund the difference which is the way he does . Royal mail always charged the same shipping price to any European country , now it will depend where you are posting to depends how much the charge which does not make it easy for anybody wishing to sell Internationaly . After all there is still a small fee for private sellers to sell Internationaly but off course Ebay can not add the buyers protection on because that is only for UK buyers  . So how that makes a mockery off Ebays private sellers sell for free . But that is another thing all together .

i would say yes. ebay say the buyer must make sure they are click on the right area in check out as i sold 6 item to one buyer but ebay combined one label for 4 items and another label for two combining weight for each bought .had to buy both labels use one and applied for refund on other not used still buyer told they made mistake by ebay

At last someone else agrees with me about sending invoices to European buyers . Ebay does not manage the postage costs it is the seller . I took the 14kg parcel to a Evri parcel shop myself on behalf off my friend for the customer in the Netherlands . The seller I know does not sell to the USA mainly because off the high price off tracked delivery's which makes it to expensive to send to them so he would not know or be able to tell me if it works or not . At the end off the day it is complete mess , how long is it before Ebay cut the insurance off £750 to something else after all Royal mail now only give £75 on tracked 48 now .There is no way Ebay are going to cover the other £675 for ever .

Maybe sending to USA is more to do with Trumps tariffs and not Ebay after all he charges different tariffs on different items which must make things very difficult.  . When you send a invoice to a Europeon buyer Ebay add on the VAT to the invoice . If the seller sends a refund a portion off the VAT is also returned . I know he has had several sales canceled because off the invoice .

If you talking about me mudding the water , this same problem has multiple conversations on this board since April . Ebay are aware off the problem and Ebay have not or do not want to solve the problem.  As always it is the seller that has to try a work around the problem and that has been that way for many years every time they make a change . At the end off the day why did Ebay try and fix something which was not broken . And we all know why because it is away off making money. Wait until the Christmas parcel rush is on and see what happens and my guessthis problem will not be solved .  There are still many private sellers who are still not using Simply Delivery ,yet Ebay tell you every private seller is having to use it but that is rubbish. There are many private buyers who do understand the seller is not setting the postage price because they still ask the seller to combine the postage price which we all know is not possible and it is not down to the seller to refund any overpaid postage paid .

i agee regarding refunding. it seem that there is now a Ebay link for you to fill in a claim form for refund of simple delivery label when one or more labels not used

This is what you need to do / what happens,  re unused Simple Delivery labels :

• If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days

• If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.  Also ensure you add the replacement tracking number of the service used, and it shows delivery.

did you also know that if you change your choice of postage courier in a listing it changes all listings in live and scheduled there is no choose one courier for one item

Yep,  I did know that, another factor I'm sure will take a long time / never , to be addressed! 🤔
