Ebay was always heavily weighted in favour of the Buyers, but this new mad rule thats coming in next month about having to wait two days after delivery is confirmed to get paid is simply beyond the pale.
And sometimes delivery conformation never comes, apparently in that situation we have to wait 14 days to get our money.
This is disgusting and completely nuts. A self-destructive move from Ebay.

'The process hasn't been streamlined or improved at all since then. Because the longer it takes to resolve, the longer ebay gets to hold your money.'

Add to that, they, like most large companies, do not give a hoot when a small percentage of the customers do not fit into 'the pigeon hole' shape of the average customer. (in ebay's average customer's case; having a passport/driving licence)
We, the 5% awkward squad can just go away.
Any loss they make from not getting the 5%'s business, they can make up for by not paying human beings to sort out human problems. (see also : car parking companies, gig ticket companies etc ...)

I don't actually mind the buyer being able to choose the service they want, but the seller should be able to set postage preferences in their seller account, choosing what postage choices the buyer will have on their items for sale, hence a seller would then not be forced to use any postal services they don't want to or can't use. This is how V**ted do it, if I sold something and was being forced to use an untracked service or Evri (hermes) I would simply cancel the sale because it isn't worth risking losing the item and not being paid

Yet your perfectly ok to sell for free?
Having business sellers cover those fees for you?
eBay are in existence to offer a service but not for free if they get interest on that withholding truest me it is a tiny bit, but tiny bits add up what they should have done is introduce all this at the same time then you would be on the understanding you can sell for free but we still need something in return. Hence buyer fee, with holding funds and simple delivery yes they will make money on all those. Yet you can still sell for free,

I'd much rather pay the original private seller selling fee for the convenience of being able to have quick instant payments again then having to keep on waiting around for my money which is not convenient at all.
If eBay really want to sort this, why can't we be given a choice of paying a SAME DAY faster payment fee which would let us have our money QUICKER if needed ?
In business, I always believe flexibility and choice is very important - eBay need to think about this and offer a quicker payment service if one is prepared to pay a little extra for this useful service.
And for those who don't wish to pay and are happy to wait many days for their sales money eBay should just give the option of standard payment like example below:-
Express Same Day Payout (small fee involved)
Standard Payout 2 - 14 days (free)
EDIT:
If eBay seems to favour changes so much, then why can't they give us a positive change for once where it is useful and will also make them some more money ? - Sounds good ?

Hmmm.... so if the payment is actively delayed by a 3rd party AND the 3rd party is providing the shipping label, does that mean that the 3rd party is responsible for any undelivered item??

If you use SD yes

I'm not aware of people asking to sell for free before October. It was fine back then. But ebay is the epitome of "ain't broke, so fix it until it is".

You need to separate these things up a little.
The replacement for the direct (seller)fee is the BF, Not a clue what the delayed payment is for but makes a little sense when you look at it with the SD. Everything going forward will be tracked and once compulsory there will be much less untracked on the site,
Doesn't help at this moment , which is why i said everything should be released at the same time. But that's too big of a job for ebay.
But at least you can sell for free (right)!

If you are using Simple Delivery. (which is the only way you can be forced into using a delivery service you don't want to use,) *ebay* themselves will be paying out for non-deliveries and breakages within the post. Not the seller.
So you will eventually get paid from the sale ( it just may take about 30 days to get to you...😒)
That's the only good side of Simple Del.
Many sellers will be unable to use ebay's dictated choice of delivery service for many reasons.
No smart phone
No printer (or both!)
Inability to drive to the nearest dictated 'drop-off' shop.
Disability prevents leaving the house.
No post office for 10 miles and no car.
Delivery services refuse to *collect* from a back-of-beyond address
Drop-boxes always already full when you get to them
etc etc

Ill just say you can inspect what your buying in a standard shop you can't online.
So you cannot compare the experiences.
And yes i would prefer it go back to what it was just before Halloween, But not for the same reason as you.

WRONG - Nothing is free - eBay is the same - just a gimmick to compete with some other site...
And with eBay managing delivery when it becomes compulsory it is then NO LONGER WORTHWHILE selling on eBay any more 😞

But you forgot Sponsored Listing Fee, without paying that private sellers are highly unlikely to sell anything much at all.
Take the marketing ploy away and ebay for private sellers is still Free to List but definitely not "Free to Sell" because in order to sell they effectively have to sponsor their listings. If they don't it becomes "Free to Sell Nothing".
In addition to being at the back of the visibility queue, after mostly businesses who will sponsor, private sellers will now be expected to reduce their prices to cover the BPF or stand out like sore thumb among the more popular "Round Number" prices of un-affected businesses.
Put up with ebay inflating prices on SD which will become compulsory, putting them at a further disadvantage to businesses that will still be able to choose the most economic service for their buyers.
And put up their funds being Held for up to 14 days then have them transferred to ebay's "Wallet" before they can manually 'request' them transferred to their bank account (with further delay).
Please also remember that one of the CEOs stated reasons for transferring private seller's funds to their 'Balance / Wallet' was that they will use those funds to buy from Business Sellers, or so he hopes.
Please tell me, as a private seller, is there anything in there that benefits me in any way? To me it looks like another bit of ebay one-sidedness heavily in favour of business sellers that loads yet more inconvenience, complications and delays onto private sellers while favouring businesses, as usual.

I was just reading about simple delivery.
From how i understand it Ebay will only pay for breakages or damage in transit IF the item is properly packaged. There is a section on exactly how sellers must package their items. Obv its open to debate IF ebay consider the packaging was sufficient.
Below the part telling you exactly how any items should be packaged......
These tips are general guidelines. We can’t be held responsible if your item is damaged in transit.
