I bought a track48 label through eBay and this morning a nice lady at the Post Office said that track48 with the YA number is not accepted and that I should contact the seller. does anyone have a similar problem? did ebay uk sell me a fake label?

Yes, it's a bad habit I've routinely failed to overcome.
Every time I come back here Ebay seem to have various problems, albeit strangely profitable ones?
I'm starting to think it must be me. 😉
The CEO is not working undercover, but yes he IS wrecking Ebay.

Horizon provides the link between the PO and Royal Mail...Horizon rings familiar !

It's not just SD. My click and Drop YB and TQ tracking was also not accepted this morning.

I got this too. It's shown on the website as "accepted at parcelpoint". Hopefully it won't get rejected at the next stage!

I finally heard from Ebay customer service. They said as my label with

Not an exactly correct answer from CS !

I wish mine said that. It's gone from "no info come back tomorrow" to "were expecting it", about 90 mins after I dropped it off. Hopefully it'll just get a scan at the first point of call as usual.

I'd do the 'request a refund' for your unused label. (and that request has to be done within 14 days)
I know C.S. said it would be automatically refunded, but in normal situations, sellers have to 'request a refund'.
Unused labels are automatically refunded to *buyers*, certainly, and C.S. very regularly don't know what they're talking about!

To update this, it's been scanned at the MC and expected delivery Monday so all's good, thankfully.

Just got the Royal Mail scan update as well

I spoke to my PO manager about this earlier today (she asked me about it, as she often does when eBay notices come in.). The POs have been aware of this problem since the beginning of business today. ALL managers were informed through the Horizon system, so whoever the fault lies with, if any post office staff don't know about it, that's down to bad management in the PO branch.
Horizon advised that these parcels could be accepted, but could not be scanned in the branch, so you would not have a proof of postage. They would be scanned as normal, further on in their journey. It seems it probably was an eBay problem, as the advice was that, if you didn't want to take the chance of sending without a POP, you were to take it up with eBay.
So it seems it was a problem with eBay's system generating tracking numbers unrecognisable in PO branches, exacerbated in places by PO staff being unaware, due to their managers' incompetence (same as happened with SD in general).

And as with SD, any seller who's had to spend time deliberating/debating with P.O. staff and/or Ebay CS, dashing from one post office to the next in the forlorn hope of a more positive outcome, or even buying their own postage label to stick over Ebay's unusable one, will at least understand much better who they're now working for.
Albeit at a pay rate of just £0 per hour.
Welcome to Uber-Ebay. It's a good thing you had nothing else planned for your Saturday morning/afternoon? 😁

I'm a business seller so SD is not available to me.
All my parcels today have the YA code on the tracked 48 label so wouldn't scan at the post office.
If it's not resolved by tomorrow morning I'm gonna skip the Post Office and drop them straight into the main delivery office instead

I'm one of the private sellers who for various reasons can't do Stupid Delivery, so I'm on the verge of quitting.
But reading about this fiasco with non-scanning labels really makes me mad. They force us to use a system, in order to control every area of our sales - and then when the system crashes they provide no support.
What is ebay doing for all the sellers who wasted time & money stressing out yesterday? What are they going to do when buyers start saying items are late/no proof of posting/ lost in the mail?
What will they do about those sellers who tried to post fast, as per new rules, but now have feedback saying "late delivery?"

Is it safe now to generate new labels? I have a sale from last night and while the post offices I use don't open today I normally dispatch as they come in to avoid having a sudden backlog. An official announcement that the problem is solved would be helpful.

Sadly, Ebay never seem to confirm when a problem has been sorted. Much for the same reasons as they never seem to give us notice whenever they introduce a new one.

After speaking to customer services yesterday I was told that the technical team would email me with a new label. I was told that I would receive this new label within 24 hours. Well, that 24 hours has now passed and I have heard nothing. Also, the customer service lady I chatted with said I would receive an email with the transcript of our conversation, this I also have not received.
What would be my best option now ? I am considering cancelling the label by filling in a form explaining why I wish to cancel the label provided and getting my own postage label through the Royal Mail website.
It’s so frustrating that I have received no communication and am left in limbo. There has been no announcement by EBay regarding this issue that I guess has affected hundreds of sellers.
The label I require is for a low value item sold thankfully, only £6.99 but am so annoyed that EBay are not helping or making some form of announcement to sellers.
Simple Delivery is far off being simple, maybe they should rename it to “Frustrating Annoying Not Very Simple Delivery”
