Problem with track48 serial YA Royal Mail

I bought a track48 label through eBay and this morning a nice lady at the Post Office said that track48 with the YA number is not accepted and that I should contact the seller. does anyone have a similar problem? did ebay uk sell me a fake label?

Sorry but it not a simple delivery problem. It is affecting Royal Mail T48 labels starting YA purchased through Ebay, RM click and drop and Parcel2go where the parcels are sent via the Post Office. Those sent direct with RM don't have a problem.

I didn't send via the post office but used a parcel postbox instead. Parcel sent Saturday morning, tracking updated Saturday afternoon and parcel delivered this afternoon. Pretty good for RM T48

I was in post office this morning I can assure you its only eBay generate Royal Mail tracking numbers starting with letters  YA.   Nothing else effected.

I know people who have bought Royal mail RM48 direct from the Royal mail click and drop website, and they have had the same issues.

Vinteds rm 48 is not working ergo it’s not eBay

Just tried manual entry on C&D - still produces YA code. Nothing to do with eBay. T48 costs an extra 50p in parcel shop! Not happy.

Maybe your post office have only had people trying to post ebay YA codes but I can assure you it isn't just ebay parcels affected. A friend tried to send a parcel of gifts the tracking code started YA and post office couldn't scan it and provide proof of posting and they don't even use ebay!

Can anyone advise please? 

I've just sold an item, custom postage still luckily, but I always only use royal mail. I realise from all the messages on here that there is a problem with the scanning of the codes. However, is this just for tracked 48 services? I have yet to package and print the label so therefore my question is, if I send untracked will it work and be accepted at the post office tomorrow?

It’s all over the country for Royal Mail tracked 48 with a certain barcode prefix ya00 or something 

whether it s a huge platform like eBay Etsy etc or aunty Anna sending her grandchild a pressie 

not an eBay only problem
