Problem with track48 serial YA Royal Mail

I bought a track48 label through eBay and this morning a nice lady at the Post Office said that track48 with the YA number is not accepted and that I should contact the seller. does anyone have a similar problem? did ebay uk sell me a fake label?

I believe it’s only tracked 48 items with certain barcode prefix

It's only Tracked 48 that's affected.  I sent a Tracked 24 this morning and it went through fine.  So if you use anything other than Tracked 48 there shouldn't be a problem.

I'm not messing about with claiming for unused labels or being out of pocket for eBay's mistake. 

I did not ask for this new system they forced on me.

They'll sort it to my satisfaction. 

It's not up to us to fix the issues. 

Ebay get enough money from me. 

On a wider point, how can my buyers pay £2. 42 for a label I've been paying £3.71 for, for over a year?

They owe me a few £1.31's

It also makes the overall price a little lower as their buyer tax includes post costs. 

Anyone else?

I had this yesterday on my personal seeling account ( not this business account).

Sold an item and label was created using 'simple delivery'.

Was a tracked 48 with YA serial.  The lady in the post office said it was a technical issue at Royal Mail that was supposed to be fixed.

In the end I just came home and cancelled the order as I am not faffing about.  I explained it to the customer and suggested they contact eBay.  I waited 30 minutes on a chat and gave up.  ebay support is shocking for personal sellers.

This morning 5/8/25, Royal Mail tracking was updated that parcel has been received at Greenford MC.

My local post office accepted my package, but as of yet my package has not shown up on royal mail tracking, which I assumed would happen once it hit a royal mail sorting office.

Royal Mail and eBay tracking has not been in sync at the best of times,  let alone with this major issue RM were experiencing.

Leave it a few days see if it catches up.

Tracking has usually been delayed to show up on eBay.  If it shows on Royal Mail , issue seems to be slowly resolved,  then contact CS and your payout will be released sooner.

From tomorrow,  payouts are released within 24 hours after tracking shows delivery.

Unfortunately eBay send me the QR code I don't get to choose. Its called Simple delivery” apparently…...

I put my faith in Royal Mail on Monday, when I was told at the PO counter there was no receipt or tracking number for 3 high value items - the PO lady wrote me a hand receipt and stamped it and I crossed my fingers; I checked the tracking references last night and no acknowledgement of receipt had come through (which made me sweat) but checked this morning and the parcel's tracking had been picked up late yesterday/early this morning by the distribution centre and is now online for my eBay buyers to track. 

Issue is with post offices not having the right software updated as I understand it not Royal Mail being able to physically deliver per se; so I'm happy to continue posting via SD and feel confident the front end difficulties are not actually affecting parcel delivery and tracking once items reach the right places.

Me too ... I sent SD parcel via my local post office. Parcel tracking is now available this morning.

Yes - the parcel I left at the Post Office yesterday unscanned with the YA
prefix (not a Simple Delivery parcel), has just updated to say that it is
at the hub with Royal Mail. Once with RM these parcels will track as normal.
I send most of my parcels without using Simple Delivery as I still have
custom postage on most of my items.
That is meant to be changing from tomorrow as eBay are due to change all
listings to SD on 6th August. We will have to wait to see if that happens
whilst this Royal Mail issue is unresolved.

All is back to normal in my Post Office this morning - yesterday they did the workaround but today straight through.

I have exactly the same problem,

I have a phone to post and printed off the 48 hour label that ebay provided via the *bleep*py new non choice postage system!

I printed my label off on the 3rd of August, went to my local post office twice and was told there is a problem with royal mail tracking and it wont scan. So I returned yesterday (4th) only to be told the barcode isn't valid!? The lady tried the QR code and this won't work either........... It starts YA and it clearly says "post before 10-08" I will try a different postoffice today but i'm not holding up much hope...........

The Yodel label that I printed and used for my other sold item worked perfectly.

I can't find anything on ebay to resolve this and i'm not leaving it at a postoffice without proof of postage which they won't give me!

It's nothing to do with eBay or Simple Delivery - it is a software issue
between Royal Mail and the Post Office - no point looking on eBay for
answers.
