I recently sold 2 sealed boxes of Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards to a low review buyer. These were send fully tracked and I got confirmation of this item being delivered including a picture as I was worried about the address and low buyer feedback. I dropped this parcel off directly to Royal Mail so I got shipping confirmation that confirms the weight of the item, I also got dleivery information with a picture and pictures of the package with it’s contents before shipping.
My buyer claimed he didn’t receive the item and when I told him I had shipping confirmation and a picture of his door of his address he said, I did receive the package but it was empty… Ofcourse I don’t believe this as I know the package was not empty and I got confirmation of the weight and a picture of the undamaged parcel infront of his door. eBay ruled in my favour and I thought this was done with
To my HUGE suprise I received an email today from eBay that the buyer asked eBay to review the case again and without informing me has now ruled in the Buyers favour? I am furious and genuinely confused how this is even possible?
What do I do now?! I’ve done everything I could and have all the evidence so how can eBay possibly side with the buyer after he changed his story and based on a complete fake claim. For the record I got 100% feedback on eBay and have always acted to the best of my ability to help my buyers.
Any advise is very much welcome as I have just lost £200.
Edit: In the case details eBay says I agreed to a refund but failed to issue the refund. I never agreed to any refund and made it very clear I fulfilled my obligation as a seller I never received any response or communication from the buyer.09-02-2025 3:14 PM
I’ve read all the above thread. Glad you got it resolved, but it’s not untypical of the. Irrational, and immensely stressful way that eBay behave. That’s why I have just removed over three hundred list8ngs. After over two decades what was once fun has become tiresome

like you, i’ve been with ebay since 2002, i’ve bought much more than i’ve sold as an avid collector but I usually have a few hundred low value items for sale of stuff i no longer want or duplication (stamps mainly). I’ve just ported all my listings to another site which took mere seconds.
i know they won’t sell nearly as well but i’m fed up of ebay moving the goalposts all the time so looks like time to leave but i’ll miss it.

You still have 447 items listed for sale.

Yes, they were copied over to xxxx and now i need to start removing them, i'll let some run until their end date as they have watchers and remove them once they end before renewal.

Just be aware that it is a policy breach to have items listed on ebay and available for sale elsewhere at the same time.

Really? i wasn’t aware of that. Gosh they really do like to make things difficult.

@papso22 can you show us where that policy is. I have never come across it and don't see how eBay can police it.
Have a look at the Selling Practices Policy.

great result - exactly as predicted by @game_raid who explained very well what to do.
There is nothing to add to the excellent assistance you received and the result you obtained but I did pick up on your comment below.
It is little wonder businesses operate on wrong accounts when ebay encourage you to stay on a private account - then change their mind months later !
The cynical in me questions whether ebay were trying to avoid giving the promotion !
Good luck with your business hopefully the benefits of a business account will boost your sales.

All I can find is:
Buyers and sellers can't:
That does not restrict listing similar/same items elsewhere provided that there is no mention of, or link to, the item in the eBay listing.

I think you will find that @papso22 was referring to the Selling Policy also note the Duplicate Listing Policy which is aimed at multiple duplicate listings and identical listings on numerous ebay accounts
You can list on different media without problem but as you say you cannot refer a listing on ebay to another medium - because it is classed as trading outside of ebay but you can drive business to ebay from a different medium - strange that !

You need to look at Product Availability within the Selling Practices Policy.
It effectively says you must not list on other sites unless you have enough stock of the same item to manage it so that whatever is listed is always available to any ebay buyers.
Private sellers with one of each item can't do that.

It can be done and is not breaking eBay rules as you intimated in (25) . With careful management of listings/sales this can be overcome. As soon as bid/offer/purchase is made on one site remove that product/item from the other site.

It can't be done if you only have one item without breaking the rules.
That still applies even if you apply a workaround to avoid the thing the rule exists to prevent.
