Ebay issues seem to keep following me lately.
So a brand new account buys the digital piano (I never learnt how to play :), just takes up space) which, indeed, was quite a good price compared to whatever it costs right now (pricing to get rid of, rather than get a fair value back for an essentially brand new thing). The listing allowed offers (again, pricing to get rid of), but they made no offer, just straight up bought it.
I've sent them a message asking why they had no account previously and why they didn't try to get a lower price through the offer system. My goal is to get a response back and assert the english level of the person, since they have quite an english name. If it looks oddly phrased, I will cancel "on the buyer's request".
The thing is, I really wish ebay had an "only allow offers from X amount reviewed accounts" or something similar. This would be against their making money from anything gig, but I would rather not sell, than sell to a potential scammer 🙂
Any opinions?

Your buyer could have bought as a guest and it would look like a new account to you.
Plus if buying as a guest they wouldn't be able to make offers.

Are you referring to my reply?

Please don't accuse me of calling you names, I neither wrote this not implied it. I simply asked if you were testing to see if someone with 'quite an English name' was English as you stated that your 'goal' was to '..... assert the english level of the person, since they have quite an english name. If it looks oddly phrased, I will cancel "on the buyer's request". '
If you actually meant something else perhaps you might explain what you actually meant, because if English is not your native tongue, why would you be concerned about selling to someone for whom is is also not the native tongue?
We have thousands of listings with offers - and we get sales at full price almost every day - not even unusual enough to comment on. And I am a prolific buyer - if I see something at a very good price I pay full price - because if I don't the danger is someone else will buy it or make a better offer. There is absolutely nothing to worry about with either a new buyer or someone buying without making offers. We've regulars who never every make offers, even when making multi buys. And I've been known to pay more that the asking price - once I paid three times the asking price for a rather expensive item, couldn't in good conscience buy it for any less!

If it's a very good price or rare item I'll do that too.
The seller might take a day or two to reply to an offer by which time it's sold to someone else. Also ebay have annoyingly started notifying other watchers when an offer is placed. Learnt the hard way kicking myself for being so tight as to put an offer in and letting someone else get it.
I've even put an offer in then a couple of hours later bought at full price as I've realised it's too good a deal to risk waiting any longer for the seller to respond!
On the items I recently bought as a new user at the other marketplace I deliberately didn't put offers in as I thought the seller might be more likely to fish around my profile and realise I was a brand new user then not sell me the item. I figured that if I paid full price they were less likely to look and it would be lucrative enough for them to take the risk on me.

I've explained it over 3 posts previously, you either understand, or you don't, I see no reason to give you any more of my time.
I told you I'm not native to quench the xeno whatever I thought you were implying, not to have you question the level at which I do speak it.
That's not what you meant? I apologise for accusing you, in that case.
Please stop interacting with me, thank you.
