Hi
Can anyone help - I have had a private message from a buyer asking if I would accept a certain price - if I send the offer, (attached picture) will I receive this amount in full or is this the amount including buyer fee? So I would receive less? I've read through loads of posts and can't actually find a definitive answer 😂
Thanks

The amount you see will include the BPF so you will receive less

I have not sent or received offers under this new system yet, so have not seen the result how this works for myself, but other have reported this:
If a buyer offers you say £10 for your item, you receive less, as the Buyer Protection Fee is taken off.
If you send the offer of £10 you receive the £10, and the buyer pays the BPF on top.

Already 2 different answers 🤣, how come something that worked perfectly fine for so long become so difficult!
Thanks for the replies

It wholly depends if you send or receive the offer.
My reply is based on several answers from members who have actually experienced this.

Not different answers. Tressy just covered the other side of the offer equation as well.

I had to send an offer out yesterday and the buyer had to pay the amount I sent plus the BPF.
I also received an offer on another item and it was for an odd amount, the offer the buyer sent had included the BFP but what I received had had it deducted.
Agreed though, even explaining it is a massive headache. eBay has destroyed their own site for the sake of trying to copy Vinted, I would happily go back to paying seller fees, even at a higher rate if it means I don't have to go through all the mess they've added recently. My sales have dipped by about 90% because it looks like so many people, buyers and sellers are boycotting eBay. I used to buy from eBay very regularly, usually with what I'd earned. I haven't bought a single thing in February because I haven't had the spare cash from sales.

Yes - I have just sent the offer - and you were correct, if you send the offer, you get the full amount and the buyer pays the extra.
Thank you

You will receive less which is ridiculous. I just accepted an offer of £3.99 and turns out I only get £3.15! If if realised that I wouldn’t have accepted. It’s an absolute con and I basically a rebranded seller fee. It’s clearly not “free to sell on eBay” anymore. It would be fairer to sellers and buyers if they just reintroduced the seller fee as I’m sure buyers think the whole of their offer goes to the seller. Either that or add the buyer fee at the checkout like a sales tax. But don’t try and pretend the seller is getting more than they actually are.

Thank you for confirming this.
Must admit I learn more about what's a happening with this new Buyer Protection Fee from members experiencing various aspects, perhaps not fully and well thought out from eBay, than from any eBay announcement.
I'm bracing myself for the next throng of questions which will no doubt arrive when Simple Delivery is made mandatory at the end of March for Private sellers, as we are led to believe.
Oh the joy ! 😊

This has reassured me that I’m not completely mad. Thank you for all the answers. I received a couple of offers on two items that I accepted and couldn’t work out why I was getting less. I was starting to think I was reading the offers wrong. I need to pay more attention. People are going to start offering just a few pence less and not have to pay fees that way. Until everyone cottons on, of course. I’d like to go back to old eBay safety and values with the simplicity of Vinted. Thank you please 😆
