Hi, because of the numerous threads on here about the new Buyer Fees for private Sellers, I thought it would be a good idea to have one main thread to post the notifications of when the Buyer Fee is introduced in the different categories, now that Ebay have decided to roll it out gradually.
I will try and update the first post every day or two with any changes that people find so they are all in one place.
*Any tips on the best place to find these pending notifications from Ebay would be appreciated, thanks.

Thanks for adding some clarity.
Hoping to have most of my belongings sold off in the next few months so here's hoping I don't need to jump through too many hoops just to get my money.

Buyers fees has now been added to STAMPS as from today. That will kill off that category, and end all cheap listings by collectors selling off their "swaps". Better deals are now available on other sites and dealers own websites. It was good fun while it lasted and many collectors are going to be disappointed that they can no longer pursue their hobby on eBay. The one size fits all strategy of eBay doesn't fit this category, but then they are not interested anymore in hobbyists.

Thanks for letting us know they can't be bothered. Postcards next i suppose have already taken them all off and put them in sets and warned people. Very sad that the one thing that really got this place going is being destroyed. Never mind there are alternatives

Considering they are supposedly interested in money their new rollout seems bizarre. Plenty of low cost, high volume businesses out there that prove that business model works and if they left it alone it's just an added bonus.
I honestly can't remember any big corp doing anything this suicidal, ever.

Clothing and toys have now been added.

Thank you. Just checked Warhammer models and every one I checked had it. Now I finally get to see how this plays out.

A teddy bear I've been watching went up from 11.95 last night to 13.12 this morning. Not sure if anyone has added the teddy bear category yet. Assuming it's the fee with the .12 amount but haven't worked it out mathematically personally. (Haven't had enough caffeine yet for maths in the morning.)

I've removed my listings that include todays 'buyers tax' - these include diecast and toys and games!

Postcards added today. Along with stamps they are the biggest catagories. Things will get very quiet for ALL sellers both business and private in those categories.

Beauty items have had the fee added today.

In fact all my varied listings had fees so I removed all bar one, leabving message to say I was leaving but all my buyers had my own protection which was free and was always so , prior to obeys tax!

I have just listed an Art Deco Bronze lady starting at £99 and Ebays added over £4 to the listing 😞
To be honest i did not expect that.
Under Active it shows £99 but when i click on the actual listing it shows the higher figure without saying what it is for. Obv i know what it is.

Looks like the jewellery category is now with the added fee/tax on it for buyers
19-02-2025 5:17 PM
Ouch thats the one category i did not want it added to anytime soon ....

Can confirm collectable/trading cards now have the BFP added.
That's my sales of my unwanted cards dead, aside from higher value ones where I am actually able to price competitively.
Just gonna have to toss everything else into job lots.
19-02-2025 5:22 PM
I think it's on everything now, from what i sell jewellery, postcards, toys, ornaments, clothes, am taking more listings off all the time
19-02-2025 5:24 PM
Yes joblots for me too has been doing well. Then off into the mists of time i go to pastures new

In future i think that IF i list it will only be very collectible items and prob just a couple at a time so i can keep a track on whats actually happening (blonde and easily confused). Once i am confused forget about trying to unconfuse me lol

If there is anyone not confused it will be a miracle. Very sad my friend who is 87 and fighting not to be put in a home loves doing Ebay it keeps her active and she hasn't a clue what's going on with all this at once. I'm trying to help her but they use stamps SD really will finish her if it's forced.

To be fair it will finish us too as we will not be dictated to when it comes to shipping times and how we post and with whom.
