NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I know a lot of people have had problems with deliveries from evri ,where we are we have been very lucky ,we live on a residential mobile home park ,and the owners have provided a large box for the evri /yodel /dpd drivers to use to put our parcels in down in the reception yard , because the couriers said they don't have time to deliver to each home  ,the site staff check the box too regularly and there are security cameras looking down on the box too ,so when we get notification our parcels have been delivered we just go down to the box to fetch them .Royal mail delivers to our door(s) not to the box ,so if they can do it we don't see why evri and yodel ,DPD can't do it ,but at least the box means we don't have parcels taken away again .

Yes you are right ,Evri ,yodel ,dpd get paid per parcel so are rushed to get as many parcels out as they can to make their money .

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

@kath3735_wxmjn

Totally agree.

I have an amazing local Evri team, three of them, family run, they really are brilliant. But I am about to switch it off on another platform as a seller. I have 4 different parcels ‘out for delivery’ 22nd to 25th September. No movement, no help from the useless Chatbot.
They’ve lost 2 in the last month, and couldn’t deliver another, despite the buyer and myself trying to use the help system to confirm details.
Absolute pants.

You clearly have no understanding about  secure payment systems if you believe that Ebay have had to incur any extra cost in regards to implementing  BPF  as the current  E2E SECURE payment system has been place for  a good few years  now.

you clearly have no understanding if you believe the payment system doesn’t require any day to day costs or maintenance. A payment system, despite not being a physical item, needs work.

Do you really think they implemented it several years ago then had to do NOTHING?

they need things Such as an IT team to prevent bot attacks. A front end development team to teat the UX. Hell I notice pay by bank on my desktop when I logged in the other day which I believe is new. This development doesn’t come free. Just because something isn’t a physical item, doesn’t mean it doesn’t need maintenance o make it work.

that was what my car analogy was about. By your logic a car could have been purchased five years ago, be driven every day and still be fine with zero maintenance costs five years later.

that is t he nonsense I refer to - because you seem to believe the payment system works without any help

of course the BPF has just replaced the FVF and yes that does mean ebay can technically say it’s free to sell, but they do have things to pay for.

NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Funny you mention this.    My son and i were chatting about Evri last night.   One of his friends has recently given up a decent job as an assistant Manager with a  major supermarket.    He had applied to work as an Evri driver because of the flexibity over hours worked.     My son (who is megga smart) worked out all his expenses/income  based on the hours his friend wanted to work.    He would be making £30 a day !!   His friend was shocked as he has 2 small children and a wife to support!

After hearing this news he applied to be a full time regular postie and thankfully was given the job.  My son was a bit mift as to why he had given up a decent full time job without having a stable job to go to 😞

Things can also go wrong out of the blue (the withdraw issue comes to mind here). We’ve just had a technical issue with payments on our website. It randomly decided to take payments twice and its taken 3 days to sort out. We’ve fixed it ourselves but it’s meant we have had to work more and over a weekend but get no pay for it. Bigger businesses would have had to pay extra for such an urgent fix.

I’m glad some people get it. I deal with customer checkout issues for a SME. Even for a team of that size you could make the arguement of having someone on it as a full time development job.

This is because Royal Mail / Post Office employees are salaried and have a
union agreed working day and also the Royal Mail / Post Office is also
governed by a legal charter. The parcel delivery firms are none of those.
Most couriers are self employed and paid so much per parcel not per
delivery. So 10 parcels to one location way more profitable than 10 parcels
to 10 locations. If you are paid 50p per parcel and your overheads are £100
per day that’s 200 parcels to break even. So how many parcels could you
deliver in a day ringing doorbells waiting for it to be answered, no one in
etc? The RM/PO loses millions every year but is kept going by the tax
payers as an essential service. The other companies have to make their own
profits. Does this answer your question?
