AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

I imagine if the buyer pays for it will be them who has paid not you as the seller. If the seller ignores the label and goes to the post office themselves they should only have paid one lot of postage. Personally I would pay for the postage myself rather than use Stupid Special Needs Delivery.

Cheers I’ll go back to that page and dig a bit deeper.

With SD you don’t get charged for the SD label that buyers paid fof
ebay buys it from Royal Mail or evri
unless you offered free postage
free postage under SD means eBay supplying their label for you to use
If a buyer has paid for postage and you don’t use that label they get it refunded
youre then left to get the money back off the buyer for the money you spent to send a different independent way
not sure how that works though
but you don’t get charged twice

I agree. Hardly any sales to post.

If you go to the simple delivery section press 1 kilo button. This opens options for parcel weight. Scroll to the bottom to 20 kilos, there is a tab tab that reads custom postage. Click on that and you have the Royal Mail selection. Hope this helps.

I doubt very much that ebay will provide any means for sellers to reclaim money from buyers if the seller steps outside Simple Delivery. It'll be like INRs where the buyer gets a refund and then the package turns up - ebay offers no assistance and the seller has to depend on the buyer being willing to pay up.

Buyer Protection Fee will seriously impact the sale of lower priced item as it no until you go beyond £20 that the BPF below 10% at £10 its closer to 20%.
As a buyer , for stuff I would be interested in for my own collection , I have only bought 1 item since January . In term of buying things I would consider restoring and then selling , I haven't bought anything as although selling prices are lower for job lot items , there is no point buying thing to sell if things don't sell . I have never bought so little from Ebay in 22 years . The only things I have bought are bits and pieces for domestic use
Higher priced items I look at tend to attract bids but unless I want them purely for my collection it just not worth me bidding now.
This year I was going to concentrate mainly on thinning down my collection but I am just going to sit tight for now . I am not going to start selling until after the summer . Hopefully Ebay will have come to their senses by then !
I have never known Ebay to be this flat

Well they will just have to set something up
like make a claim for postage label that wasn’t used
its not rocket science
or they could make it not necessary in the first place

Hello, a similar thing has happened to me today. It seems as a business seller today I'm unable to send anything via a Royal mail letter under 100g (0.87p). Can someone tell me why this is happening, it's just so confusing.

IMO you're paying £70 for free listing and re-listing. That works well if you have thousands of items to sell (like stamps).
I'm selling off my glass collection and it's taken me years of rather leisurely listing to list a couple of hundred items, so the fee is of little value. See my earlier post as to how I list/pay. Both also give the PP checkout.
Last year on ebay I listed about 50 items, sold 4 with 13.2%(?) fees.
The other site I sold 28 items. 10p to list each one + 5%FVF (Not on P&P) + PP (2.8%?).
But FAR more important to me is that it is far and away a better selling experience over there than it has been on ebay for years.
Also very important is the fact that buyers can find and buy my stuff there -- The search is strictly Key Word based-- NOT rigged to favour those who pay bribes to ebay.

Perhaps it's just a glitch cos eBay separated 2nd class letter from large letter 2nd class RM for private sellers with this stupid delivery, but if they have messed it up for business sellers as well, they really are messing everything up.

Hi eBay are not charging medium size parcel prices for small parcels under 2kg
Medium size prices (ok overcharged here scandalously as they only have 2-15kg choice) are only getting charged if you click over 2kg
