AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

So true! Plus I donate to various Ukrainian fundraisers. Much more worthy than Ebay!

The majority of my items are large letter size and are under £10 on auction so I am able to send them without simple delivery even though they are over 100g .Our Main post office today said they have had a lot of sellers going in who have had to use Simple delivery and it is not for them so they are giving up Ebay . The Post office manager also said that people are being charged medium parcel prices for a small parcels with SD so that is annoying people ,so it either effects the seller or the buyer .

I would much rather contribute to fundraisers like that rather than leave my money here so that interest will be gained that I would have no control over.

Much of my sale money went to numerous Ukrainian fundraisers. Often it wasn't a lot but that £10 could make all the difference.

I don't like "Simple Delivery" myself, but can see how someone might find it easier. I far prefer "Advanced Option" as I can send a 1.5kg item as a small parcel cheaper than the "Simple" option.
Now, I am not a Business seller, but I went and made a listing today for a CD set under £10 but over 100g, and noticed I still had access to "Advanced Option", which I used.
I then went to one of my other listings for an item I have at £33 and still over 100g, and noticed it too had access to the "Advanced Option" and changed my postage to that. I only listed this particular item on Saturday and didn't notice whether I had access to the "Advanced Option" or not.
Now my understanding was the "Simple Option" was to fully come into effect on the 15th April 2025. While "Advanced Option" was only available for "Business" sellers, or Items under £10, and items under 100g.
So either I've gotten lucky, or the option isn't enforceable.
Either way, check whether you still have access to "Advanced Option" on current and new listings.

Ebay blew it with the original mandatory roll out of simple delivery, its now not going to be until the end of the month...maybe.

I wonder if it is because one of you is flagged on Ebay as an SD user and the other hasn't been moved across to SD. Given there could 5 million registers user and assuming it is a flag in the user profile there probably only a 100k they can do each night. They might also not be able to migrate users if the system thinks they are still logged in
As I say I think there is a lot more to SD, there is probably a completely different application and perhaps infrastructure underneath . Even things like invoice etc could be prepared differently There are probably ways you could working by comparing URL strings .
To make BFP work in the interim the billing would simply be flagging the flat rate 75p pseudo listing charge and the 4% as pseudo seller fee and just hide it from the end user
I don't think this is App related as both mobile and Internet app will referenced the same user profile .

100 percent in agreement. They have become far too big for their boots. In addition to not selling I'm also not buying because they trick you into using certain couriers by hiding it under standard delivery until you pay. There's a saying money talks and b s walks.

Ebay recently changed the criteria regarding items that are exempt from Simple Delivery. The 100g weight limit is no longer mentioned. Also CD's are listed as one of the exempt sub-categories.
Starting from 15 April, Simple Delivery will be the only delivery method available for private sellers when posting eligible items. Simple Delivery will be optional for items priced £10 and under, letter-sized, and in certain sub-categories* within the following areas:
*This list does not include all sub-categories covered. You can see if your item is eligible and required to use Simple Delivery when listing.

You do have to laugh that "simple delivery' will be the only delivery method available for private sellers when posting eligible items. Simple Delivery will be optional for items priced £10 and under, letter-sized, and in certain sub-categories within a very long list of categories, which may or may not include some of the sub-categories. How is this 'simple'?
22-04-2025 4:00 PM
Was thinking that as i read it, how can you call something like that 'simple'. Completely confusing more like.
22-04-2025 4:03 PM
Ah, that might explain it.
The categories I have items listed under. CD, DVD, VHS, Trading Card, Jigsaw, and Ornaments.
I have however found that the one item I have under the "Home Networking & Connectivity" category is only "Simple Delivery".

I guarantee that it isn't because they aren't able to update the database or user profiles.
It's going to be a staggered rollout, which was the correct way to do it for an application with this many users and this much activity, and for a system that has this many potential ramifications for people both online and off. The mistake they made was telling people that it would all be done and all be mandatory on a specific day.

Your caps lock was on just FYI

Is there a member here who can confirm that they cannot use custom postage anymore on thier account ??
Otherwise this is a heck of a slow transition and no sigh of showing it to be mandatory.

oh joy...behind our back an item changed to SD. Probably 3 yrs with no sale then wham SD and sold and arghh a 6 piece cup and saucer tea set!!! and going EVRI double arghhh. Previously trusted to Royal Mail in 2 x small parcels but no way to do that with SD. No way to arrange collection as we would if ever selling with Evri. Only £15 and no way to recoup the masses of bubble wrap tape and boxes to make it bullet proof! Ebay may say factor into selling price but it was in the P&P before too late now. As these items are not covered with Evri throw over the wall delivery I will get confirmation that ebay will reimburse for damage. Yes only £15 but these days a sale is a sale 😞

I have confirmed this many times since last Sunday (14th April) when it happened on my account.
About a year ago I was put in a trial run of the automated feedback part of it so I was obviously ‘in the first batch’ from the beginning.

Where I saw this I apologise my little grey cells are overloaded with all these constant changes so I cannot remember, but someone reported the roll out being done gradually as we can see from posts here, but full rollout mandatory on the 28th April. 🤗
Watch this space, sorry watch out for the 28th !

I can confirm that an item I have in the "Home Networking & Connectivity" category no longer has access to "Advanced Options". but my other items (Trading cards, Ornaments, DVD, CD, and VHS) are still able to use "Advanced Option".
So it all depends on the category for some items.
Hope this helps
