AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Sorry, I don't know. Best to ask ebay if it's not already in their T&Cs.

Sorry
Global Shipping Programme
if you have that switched on it will use simple delivery for item to get to the UK warehouse from where they take over the international shipping
If you switch it off it will let you do your own postage from here to abroad
tbh I’m not 100 % sure on this
if you’re allowed to use custom delivery for international orders (because simple delivery doesn’t apply for international unless you have GSP on) I don’t think simple delivery will kick in at all and especially seeing as item in question is exempt from it..ie a postcard .and if it’s under £10
sorry for confusion
maybe someone else can explain better

Second thoughts about posting what I was going to say. Sorry everyone.

I totally agree with you .It also amazes me how some people don't read feed back on sellers then they have a problem with item they bought and it is then that they say if I had read previous feedbacks for this seller I wouldn't have bought from them .Automatic feed back isn't really going to help sellers because it won't probably give reference to packaging ,or dispatch or quality and if they would recommend the seller

Some one asked if ebay were doing well and my post was what I found when searching for an answer ,what i found was from an analisys at the end of last year before SD and BPF kicked in ,so it will be interesting in the next month or so how things have panned out . Ebay are thinking of joining forces with etsy who also a parent company for Depop and have acquired a few other companies too recently , so if they join forces could be a force to be reckoned with .

Yes but then, more change, more rules, different fees, blah blah blah.... I think we all just want a 'simple' life selling stuff. This is all getting a bit ridiculous. Bring back small parcel and stop the potential money grabbing on postage!!!!

Like many others commenting I find Simple Delivery awful. It costs more than custom delivery, especially if your parcel is 2-5kg which appears to have vanished, item has to be sent as up to 15kg! and the buyer protection fee makes private seller items uncompetitive unless you reduce your prices alot. It seems like Ebay don't want private buyers anymore. They are killing the goose that laid the golden egg. Scrap Simple Delivery. I would actually prefer to go back to old seller fees rather than the buyer protection fee too.

"What is 'gsp'??? please stop using abbreviations."
tbh it's unlikely that people are going to stop using commonplace abbreviations. Do you not use Google? As I posted before, if you put "acronym GSP ebay" into Google, it will bring up the meaning. With ubiquitous acronyms like "tbh", you don't even need to put "ebay" into the search. HTH.
tbh - to be honest
HTH - hope this helps
(both very common on the internet)

Can someone explain to me why it is I have been happily listing low value items this evening, but the last one, similar to the rest and listed the exact same way is now insisting on simple delivery tracked? No matter how I edit it simply wont change? It's incredibly low weight and 4 GBP BIN so definately under the 10 threshold. This company has wasted soo much of my time lately this is the final straw

The roll out is messy. That’s the only reason I can think of.
Unless the item fits in a normal letter sized envelope it won’t be eligible for custom postage. Maybe AI thinks it won’t? Even if it will some people have had such tiny items put on SD anyway. As I said, its just a mess.
We’ll all be completely on it by this time next week, according to a few people on here.

I chose the more complex posting on my listing but turned out the buyer could still choose the postage. It's nuts. I chose what I chose because it's safer. Either way it's posted. A total pain in the derrier.

I sold something last night, will go in a a5 envelope. Allowed me to do custom postage, just checked as an invoice to see if all OK still, (haven't done the invoice by the way), but there is no BPF. It says what I put £3.25+£1.65p&p, but my listing with BPF says £4.10+£1.65P&P. Does eBay add an addendum to my invoice after I press send?
22-04-2025 8:33 AM
Yes, the seller doesn't see the BPF in their prices. When you make someone an offer ebay adds BPF to it as well.
22-04-2025 8:56 AM
But I do see my listing with BPF, because I put £3.25, but when I click on my listing it says £4.10 (85p bpf). It's just on an invoice it's not on there, which seems odd, I press send for total £4.90, but buyer will need to pay £5.75, when does my sent invoice change?

You're invoicing the buyer, but eBay are acting as a mediator and alter your invoice. That's when BPF is added. Since you don't get the fee off the buyer then pay it to eBay yourself, it makes sense from an accounting perspective for eBay to quietly handle that part of the sales process.
