AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

That's so true. I was a loyal user but since the Feb changes this platform has changed into something unrecognisable.

I'm glad you find it interesting. I think its even slightly better than a soap because there are so many plot changes from day to day and plenty of good posts every day.

 It's the complete and utter confusion that SD has created (and I'll freely admit I'm as befuddled as most), that it's gone from horrifying to humorous within a few days - black comedy at it's best.

Yes, I will probably end up doing that but it wouldn't be on eBay.   The more I read on here about people's  experiences with SD,  I am really nervous about using them in the future,  so I am definitely going to have to find an alternative platform or some way of selling them locally.

Over the years ebay has carried out some poorly thought through changes and implementations and Simple Delivery is right up there with them. There are so many problems with the system I haven't got time to go through them. Even by ebay standards this is bad, really bad.

Yes, it seems it's a Google problem.  Yet another example of enormous corporations over reaching themselves and making life hell!

 just spent 2hrs with Customer Services explaining what a letter is and asking why my listing are showing the wrong postage , also asked why i need to revise all my listings the show the right SD postage , ? my listing for a cig card  is showing £2.74 should be letter post (it under £10 & under 100g , all they say is you have add it as 1kg ?( no SD HAS) you need to change the weight ( but its not there just large letter) give use the item number ( how many can you look at ) it went on ,round and round utter was of time,  the SD Q&A say we do not need to do any thing to are listing but now expecting use to check all and amend ? but can not even do this as options are not there and why should we ,they also asked if i could try a different browser ? #f   utter disgrace

Well, this morning I for one have officially 'gone to war' with eBay and lodged formal complaints - not only over SD, but also separately over the BPF.

Already had a 'standard response' from CS regarding the latter - "we understand", "we'll look into it", "we'll get back to you", "but..." etc - and fully expect to just get more of the same for the former in due course...

....I've already replied to the BPF response and informed them unless they resolve it satisfactorily (by providing the ability to 'opt out' of paying it) I will escalate to the relevant statutory authority...

....and will doubtless do the same when they respond to the SD one, in which I've advised them that by restricting my freedom of choice regarding the ability to use services best suited to my needs, I believe they're breaching my - and my buyers' - consumer rights...

No I don't fold mine either.  The one I sent a few weeks ago was from the 1950s  and it was small enough to go in a 9 x 6.5 inches envelope.  The PO said that it was too small to track!!  So once Simple Delivery is finally up and running, (I think it is still in a transition phase tbh) if we are lucky enough to avoid SD by using a smaller envelope, we won't be able to send it tracked so will have to wait 14 days for payment.  That doesn't really bother me, as I only make a couple of pounds anyway,  but it does feel like you are being beaten over the head which ever way you turn.

Haha, that's hilarious!  There was a wonderful Ebay AI description someone posted further back of an ashtray, which was comedy genius.  I personally would never buy off anyone using AI for their description.

Has anyone noticed that when you search for items (I'm not actually buying, just playing around!) that when you put your search results in 'lowest price & pp' order you get more expensive items  slotted in with cheaper items on either side?   It appears (correct me if I'm wrong) that eBay are adding the BPF onto the price but showing it in the order it WOULD have been in without the BPF.   This is very misleading for the buyer and I have just sent them feedback to that effect.   Can't they get anything right?

Yes, I noticed that a few weeks ago when I was still buying.  Items not in the right price order, and sometimes you'd discover an item in the "sponsored" listings which was cheaper than anything in the search results.

Not noticed that, though sometimes 'Newly Listed' stuff is listed out-of-order...

....but what I have seen quite frequently in the last month or so are items I have on 'Watch' suddenly displaying without BPF - including on the pages themselves, not just in the list. That's happened quite a number of times - on the first occasion, I thought someone had cancelled a bid, then realised it was everything I had on the list at the time...

Did you ask for it or was just issued ? 

Does this mean you could just use your own postage regardless  but I assume SD won't let you add a tracking number so delivery could be proved .

We are told Ebay is community and if so the current Ebay leadership are the neighbours from hell , that need to be evicted  🙂

I was able to add tracking yesterday from a post office stamp, P.O.P,  from a custom delivery delivery large letter under £10/100g knitting pattern.

Just called into my local postoffice, the staff don't have the foggiest about SD, I will be calling in later on to speak to the branch manager when she comes on shift after 1pm.

But then she is a lazy moody individual and probably couldn't be bothered to read the bulletin.

No need to track Just get a Certificate of Posting insured up to £20 and it
cost nothing…

Just randomly received it.

I've also actually had a package I sent using SD stop moving on Apr 10th after getting to evri hub and I'm guessing my buyer reported as not received and got a refund as the payment suddenly became available to me even though it's not yet been delivered so I guess at least ebay are holding the promise they will deal with lost items if using SD. Funny though I haven't had any mail go missing in decades (previously used RM tracked) but as soon as I give SD (and evri) a try, the very first week a package gets lost in the system! 

The buyer didn't contact me at all, i saw no case opened, i just hope I dont get poor feedback for their choice of postage.

Two days after 'SD Day' and my listings still appear to be unaffected by the rollout. I've just relisted two items and was still allowed to select custom postage for both (Large Letters over 100g).

Guess I'll continue to do so until SD finally kicks in, then I'll delist and look to sell elsewhere.

I'm still not getting any sales either, buyer protection has put paid to that 🙄

Did you receive the funds for your item though . 

The last time I sold was when delayed payment  but before they added  BPF . I withdraw my funds as soon they are invisible but the thing that struck me how do you ever know if you haven't been paid . How do you track it 

Prior to delayed payment that money would be clear the next day as long you were paid by about 21:00  and if it was latter it would be clear the next day .
