AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Thank you. I didn't realise. It was post 2999 but then I had to edit it and it went up one lol. I'll give you deserved kudos when my daily allowance of kudos is back. I ran out yesterday 🤭.

And fully deserved by the rugby guy who started this thread.
I wonder if anyone from ebay is following?

I think FleeceBay senior management are running scared with heads buried in the sand. To issue no communication on the day SD was supposed to become mandatory is an utter disgrace! They have absolutely no respect for there customers- buyers and sellers alike!

That is adding a levy on buyers, effectively taxing sales and enforcing unwanted changes. No negotiation, no consideration just do it our way or else get out.
In Trump's case he might relent in certain circumstances. With ebay I doubt they will row back on anything.
Yes, it's called "Bullying"

Yes they are a day or two ago I had to go to work and noted down the post number I didn't have time to reply to, it was #2399.
I got back a couple of hours later and couldn't find it until I looked backwards. It had turned into #2397, so someone is reading through and deleting those too embaressing to ebay.

This is my reply from eBay when I queried their roll out of SIMPLE DELIVERY and BUYER PROTECTION
Hello Nicholas,
Thank you for contacting eBay customer service about the Simple Delivery mandate. My name is Keviseno and I'll be supporting you today.
I understand that the upcoming Simple Delivery requirement may feel restrictive, especially for private sellers and also when you’ve found a system that works well for you. The change to Simple Delivery does aim to create a more streamlined process for all sellers and enhance the overall experience on eBay. However, I recognize that this may not meet everyone's needs perfectly, and I genuinely appreciate your input on this matter.
Though, the good news about it is that for items which weigh less than 100g and priced under £10, doesn't need to go through Simple Delivery. You will be able to set custom postage for it. Thus, I recommend you to enter the item's estimated dimension and weight so that you'll get option for custom postage.
I want to acknowledge that transitioning to a single delivery method can be frustrating. Your feedback is important to us, and I assure you that we’re listening. Many sellers value flexibility in shipping options, and we appreciate your insights as we navigate these changes.
As for the buyer protection fee, I hear you and I completely understand how these updates might raise questions. You're right that many tracked services already offer insurance and piece of mind. Your point about the fee redundant and your suggestion to require tracked delivery for certain value items instead is a practical and thoughtful one.
While our goal is to help bring buyers back to the site by helping them grow their confidence in purchasing on eBay. We appreciate your partnership as we adapt to these changes. We are actively gathering feedback from sellers to address any concerns and improve the
implementation of the fee.
I hope this information provides clarity and support and I appreciate the opportunity to have addressed your concern.
Thank you for contacting eBay Customer Service. We wish you success with your current and future transactions on eBay.
Best regards,
Keviseno L.

It's smaller and therefore slower. Don't expect miracles or the same reach as ebay. As a private seller, do you need the money tomorrow?
Due to this thread (and others) many more now know it exists. If you want things to change don't give up after a few days and go back to being dumped on by ebay.
Ebay ONLY gets away with this sort of thing because it thinks it's got the $ billions to starve you out and eventually you'll come crawling back begging to be allowed to sell a few things again at whatever ebay decides you should pay and whatever 💩 conditions they like to impose.

The obvious answer is usually the right one, which is that any posts that were deleted broke the published forum posting rules.
If you look at the anti ebay stuff that is currently being posted across these boards it should be clear that the mods do not have a mandate for deleting 'embarrassing' posts.

I had exactly the same problem with a pair or trousers, brand new with tags and all labels, but the buyer claimed they were the wrong waist size, i.e. mislabelled. I had no way of proving or disputing the actual size, as I hadn't measured them myself, and in the end rather than pay to have them returned and refund the buyer (which would have cost more than she paid in the first place), I simply refunded her and told her to give them to charity. eBay would have sided with her and i didn't want to get into a protracted discussion with all that entails. Ironically, she had already left me good feedback BEFORE she raised the complaint.

Whatever! Someone is reading and deleting posts.

Help get the word out. I think I'll be joining soon too. I've been reading some of the FAQs and there are suggestions about promoting yourself (adding links to email signatures for example) and earning buddy points in the process of doing so. Worth a read if you haven't had a chance to do so yet.

I was going to try and start selling off some of my unwanted items.
I am now thoroughly confused with all these changes.
I have stamps I can’t use now on eBay, and will never use outside of eBay. First class regular and first class large I would previously use on small parcels – I can’t do that now. The odds of anyone choosing first class post on an item under £10 and under 100g is tiny. Most things I want to list will be small parcel sized.
It all feels like Ticketmaster now as well, with all the extra charges on top of the item price. It feels… deceptive.
