NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

This was not hypothetical it happened to a seller who had used/was forced to use simple delivery.

I think I saw it in the 'Postage' section but I've gone back and can't find it now.

I think its a reasonable scenario to expect where an incorrect simple delivery postage label is accepted over the counter at a post office but at some stage is flagged by a royal mail staff member and put aside for a charge to be applied that the buyer must pay if they want to receive it.  Good chance this could also result in negative feedback for the seller.

Apparently some post offices are still not accepting wrong simple delivery postage labels at the counter so its a pretty good bet that other staff in the royal mail network will flag them too for under weight postage etc and put a charge on it for the buyer to pay to receive it.

To reiterate my comment from earlier. I asked my locals Post Office staff if they'd heard of it and the looked at me like I had two heads.

This is bound to crop up because common sense has been taken out of the equation and people will have to rely on A I calculations.

I have 3 post offices local to me and I'm not going to have a heated exchange in any of them because they won't accept a wrong simple delivery postage label.  I resent being put in the position because of ebay's relentless greed in wanting to make more money by taking over postage and forcing all buyer's/private sellers to buy postage label from them.

As of Wednesday of last week the one I visited had not even heard of simple delivery but thankfully I had still been able to do my own postage labels so was just chatting to them about it.

With over 100,000 views, your thread is clearly a runaway success and those voices who always try to shout people down on most threads are nowhere to be seen. I guess that's because even they can't defend this level of mess. 🤣

Agreed, BPF, delayed pay outs and simple delivery are all indefensible and exist solely because of ebay's greed.

I kind of feel sorry for the ebay faithful as its impossible to put a positive spin on any of this and I think they know if they try what they'll get and then some.

Hi i'm here afraid to say anything yes the one good thing is the lack of those voices, to keep to the topic i can see many people ending their days as a private seller tomorrow

Thank you so much. This thread would not have achieved any of these numbers if it weren't for so many good posts by so many good posters. That's what has made this thread what it is.

Rly ?  Have to say I did try it years ago,when it first started,and yes,it was as you say...disappointing lol 😞

Did wonder though,if it had improved more recently,or maybe it might improve in the future, if enough rightfully disgruntled,myself included,ex ebay sellers move there ?
