NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Thank you. I always take my money out within minutes of my funds being available before I suspended my listings.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I'd be happy if they brought back Seller Fees which made things transparent. Made SD a option instead of being compulsory  and let sellers choose the postal option that works best for them. And lastly, get rid of the ridiculous BPF.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I’m really frustrated by this Simple Delivery nonsense. I’ve already changed my settings to ignore everyone but Royal Mail for it. I use RM at the moment and it’s fine.
I’m selling my old collection of Microstars Football figures on eBay and have tried to convert the listings to Simple Delivery. They’re not large letter size if I want to get them to buyers in one piece but rather than ‘shoe box’ size option the next band up seems to be the cabin luggage size which is £3.74. No one is going to pay £3.74 postage for a small football figure worth about £1.20.
I wonder what eBay will take away from private sellers next. My prediction is multi-listings

I believe it was much better when they did charge a commission, all these recent changes have made selling more difficult 🙏

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

In my other account I'm still seeing all my own postage prices on my listing, it doesnt matter if im logged in or not.

Is this normal after SD has been implemented to my sales?

I've not sold anything the past week so don't have anything to go on

Or haven't my listings been migrated over yet.

Perhaps wait and see what happens to your listings tomorrow?    'D' day.......

And bring plenty of popcorn when you come on the boards.........🍿

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I find it strange that there has been no updates from fleecebay about SimplyStupid Delivery, given the pushback and negative press. Despite them saying that existing listings would be changed from the 7th onwards, none of mine have been tampered with, and tomorrow is the day they insist it’s mandatory (and the day they see their profits go down the toilet). I’m going to leave my listings up until they are changed, not that anything is selling, their BPF scam fee put pay to that. There must be some squeaky bums in the fleecebay management right now!!

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

If you mark all your items as COLLECT ONLY How do  the Seller and Buyer get the contact  information i.e. email address or phone number of the Seller or Buyer in order to arrange the collection i.e. Day, Time,  As all you see on the Invoice is the buyers  home address???

Even when your items are 'collect only' they still have to be paid for through the ebay payment system (cash on collection is now banned)

When the buyer has made payment (through ebay) that is the point seller and buyer are allowed to swap collecting details.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Latest grandstanding email from ebay to buyers re Buyer protection 'Payment to private sellers is only sent after your order has been successfully delivered.'  How many other online retailers dont get paid until the order arrives. We know tracking and feedback is flawed especially with SD. We know ebay do pay up after a certain time limit but they arent saying it here! Have ebay informed members where their monies held hostage are and if interest is earned? If a carrier is remiss at recording tracking sellers as usual are impacted. What if Evri only offer cheaper post to hubs rather than addresses?  Buyers could leave it languishing there and sellers be damned. Scammers charter.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I sold what will probably be my last ever parcel size item yesterday and to my delight ebay still let me print off a label this morning for a small parcel. I was just about to slot the parcel in the postbox when I noticed that the label was for a brand new non-existent weight category of Small Parcel 100g.

I’m guessing the transition might have quite a few teething problems like this.

@suema_62

https://www.valueaddedresource.net/ebay-payment-terms-update-october-2023/

EBay did make it clear they make interest on these funds in an T&C update October 2023. (But to be fair what company doesn’t?)

Here’s the excerpt:

Receipt and Settlement of Funds

Added a section to clarify payments are not deposits, are not FDIC insured and any interest earned will be retained by eBay, not paid to the seller.

New section:

Funds received by us on your behalf represent an unsecured claim for payment against us, but do not constitute deposits; nor are these amounts eligible for FDIC pass-through insurance. eCI may combine your funds with the funds of other eCI customers in pooled custodial accounts and invest the funds in accordance with state money transmitter laws.

You do not have any ownership interest in these investments and any interest earned from these investments will be retained by us. To the extent you may have any beneficial ownership in the interest or proceeds of these investments, your acceptance of these terms constitutes an assignment of any right, title or interest therein to us.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

FWIW probably just posted my last 2nd Class (£1.55) RM sale and the staff didn't have a clue what I was on about when I mentioned Marketplace Seller labels and accepting non-conforming parcels.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I've seen it said that it's the fault of Post Office managers if they don't know about this.  They've been called incompetent, negligent etc for not reading notices that may (or may not) have been sent to them.  No.  It's ebay that has been negligent for not making sure that it was written into the contract with Royal Mail that it was Royal Mail's responsibility to liaise with whoever necessary at the Post Office, and get *written confirmation* that each and every Post Office understood the new system *before* it was launched.
