AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

What were the steps involved doing the postage through sd? Did it cost the same as doing the postage yourself direct to the courier? Thanks.
I haven't used sd yet and my listings appear to still be adhering to my postage policy, not sure for how much longer, although I do think it will take ebay's system quite some time to convert all U.K. listings to sd.

I cancelled as a protest but because over the past few months I (and so many others) have had so much to deal with due to changes, one after the other that I got sick and tired of it all, my brain was addled (more than normal) and I have better things to do with my time like live a little or a lot

I hope we do and I hope even more join in. The more there is the more our voice will get heard.

The more you refuse to hear my voice, the louder I will sing 🎵😁

Well apart from draconian things put in place and losing my right to deal with my carrier of choice and with it costing me more after some dummy runs need I go on this early in the farce of SD.
07-04-2025 3:53 PM
Well it might be something your happy with but your entitled to your thoughts and views even if they are as unpopular as SD.
07-04-2025 3:56 PM
Doesn’t look like your using SD on your current 2 listings!

Oh so true. There's always one isn't there lol.

So you can't see any problems with Simple Delivery. So why when I click on your name does it reveal you have only ever made one post and that was.... complaining about Simple Delivery!

With regard to blind monkeys 🐒 they're the one's screwing everything up 🙈

Hahaha. Now isn't that no surprise.

Oh well done for spotting that, NOT complaining though, eBay plant? Hmmmmmm, interesting.

@kath3735_wxmjn wrote:apart from the ethics i should imagine it could get very messy putting the same item on more than one platform. With my jigsaws I sold them at both car boot and e bay but always took them off e bay on the sunday morning if there were no bids on them and put them back on in the afternoon.
The items I collect are usually also listed on V int*d and Vestiare Collective, and also sometimes *tsy if they’re of a vintage nature. A couple of times as a buyer I’ve had orders cancelled as the item has sold on another platform and the seller forgot to take it off ebay. Its very annoying.
I’ve only used eBay to sell, and for now I’ve delisted and will just try and use / give away /chuck things instead of selling them and be more careful about what I bring in from now on. I’m not interested in trying other platforms as they either use managed delivery or don’t have the audience my stuff gets on here.

I am amazed at Ebay - no longer can one charge for packing material which can be expensive
if you wish to protect the item you are selling to the benefit of the buyer. To suggest a postal charge based on previous sales does not take account of condition and in my opinion when these are consulted these sale items bear no resemblance on suggested price to the proposed listing. I am fed up with their changes and
am considering withdrawal from their platform.

Yes bubble wrap etc does cost a lot. Mind you if you put it in an armoured box I suspect evri would wreck it!

Unlike ebay, nobody has heard of it, so there's no "passing trade" from people who like to browse.
That will probably change as a result of ebay's sudden unpopularity, but until then it's only really suitable as a shop front for fixed price (i.e. "buy it now / make offer") items.
For example if you have a website or social media channel and want a sales platform. Like an ebay shop, but much nicer to use.
