The great service you provide to your customers deserves to be recognised. This is why we are excited to introduce automated positive feedback.
Starting late April, automated positive feedback will be added to your feedback profile 7 days after tracking confirms successful delivery, provided the following criteria are met:
There’s lots of benefits of automated feedback too, including the fact it contributes to your feedback score and improves your positive rating percentage. When you receive the feedback it’ll display the message on your page, “Order completed successfully - tracked and on time”, offering reassurance to prospective buyers that you offer great service.
Something new to discuss...?! 😄

Why would it want you to rate an item that you are selling?
Do you mean you were trying to leave feedback for a seller perhaps? If so are you sure you have not already left them feedback maybe skipping the optional rate item at the time? Which is why now the only option left is to rate the item?

So just devalue the reviews even further? Not to say that they're even important anymore (outside of eBay algorithms). I think most people would agree the reviews on seller profiles have been totally meaningless for a very long time now.

In the past when I havnt felt that things with a purchase were not quite right or the item hadnt been what I was expecting rather than leave positive feedback I have not left feed back at all. Also with electrical items I wait to see if there is a problem befor leaving feedback 7 days isnt enough to see if an item is working and will continue to work. Now it looks like I will have to go straight to the neutral feedback so that Ebay can not give feed back I didnt want to give surely this will make it worst for sellers!

7 days is more than enough, it either works or it doesn't.
Neutral feedback doesn't affect sellers at all, it's neutral.

Just because automated feedback has been left doesn't mean that you can no longer leave feedback of your own. You still have the usual 60 days in which to leave feedback and any automated feedback will then be removed.

Thanks for the advice I Will have to go fo negative then if I am not happy I have only done that once or twice in all the years I have been on Ebay but I have to say I am not buying much anymore much better suppliers without all the hassle and I wont have to think about feedback but once again thanks for the advise I will steer clear of Neutral and go straight for the negative on anything I am not completly happy with

You'll find you just get banned from most of ebay with that daft attitude.
A lot of sellers share ban lists publicly so it doesn't take long for you to get banned by all the main sellers.

Did this idea get pulled, I have sales with no feedback from all of may.
