Having to opt out of Simple Delivery on EVERY LISTING

OK so listing some items tonight

good news first - even though Simple Delivery is now being pushed I can opt out to custom settings and select my standard shipping rates

bad news - I have to opt out of Simple Delivery every time I list even though I am listing similar items. Really? 

This is from ebay itself:  You can opt out of Simple Delivery when you're creating your listing by selecting Custom Postage from the delivery options. If you'd prefer not to use Simple Delivery at all in the future, you'll need to opt out each time this programme is recommended when you're creating listings.

I mean what does that last sentence mean anyway?

It is a no because 2.26 is is 46% more than 1.55.

Of course but the selling fees are far lower than for business, plus the postage is tracked and insured (to the point you don't even need to get involved if there's a loss, misdelivery etc)... The buyer will be used to seeing these postal options as they are for the pricing scheme on Amazon for postage, etc.

Consistency is key, and eBay needs to be consistent with delivery services, seller performance, etc

Not excessive for a private seller who uses Ebay to sell unwanted personal items.

Last year, I sold under 200 items, not even 4 a week.  I am not trading and I am certainly not selling to make a profit.  Most of the items I sell are from my costume jewellery collection which I began to amass 40 years ago when I started to buy small items for myself.

I don't buy to sell and I don't make items to sell.  I am just a regular private seller.

I have opted out of Royal Mail for two listings now and both times it was a Royal Mail label that was generated! It was so much easier when we could choose

Does ebay merit your extra efforts simply to fulfill what was a simple process in the past?
