I have to agree.
As a seller I never use Evri. I always use Royal Mail.
As a buyer I have had deliveries left on the door step or thrown over the side gate even when I was at home listening out for the door bell.

I have had several problems with Evri 'delivering' my purchases - dumped outside on the pathway in the pouring rain, left at the wrong address, plastic display item forced into my letter box, half in, half out causing damage and the latest - not received at all (although driver photo shows parcel left by my front door 🤔)
I now ask sellers which service they use - some have kindly switched to RM for me - but if not then I won't buy from them. As a seller myself it frustrates me that eBay suggest Evri over other services.
I always use RM for my customers.
When expecting a parcel, the RM app keeps you updated and offers a change of delivery address/date which is great and my lovely postie is really helpful.

A step in the right direction then so that's positive at least 👍😊

Any suggestions for a courier

It amazes me how and why eBay allows these clowns to be used, (maybe eBay simply does not care as long as they receive their monies).
Looks like my delivery has been lost by Evri and eBay will have to refund me, no doubt I'll be ask to do the donkey work of chasing everyone.
The best and only thing that needs to happen to Evri is for it to go bust.

Evri have a bot that fobs you off, and a contact number which actually isn't a contact number but a leave a message and you will be called back (did that three times, never called back once). In the combined attempts of being promised a call back on four occasions I haven't received one once. The customer service is simply non-existent.
I now do not buy if the sellers offers evri, the three times I have used them I didn not once get the item, first one went missing, second one was placed in the busy main street in pouring rain outside our apartment to be stolen, the third, out for delivery and then disappeared into nowhere (no updates).
I now always email sellers to emphasise I cannot accept evri deliveries for both their and my interests and to ask them to cancel if they cannot select an alternate carrier.

as a buyer I am about to delete my Ebay account as I can't be sure if I will receive a parcel. Evri has failed so many times saying they had "3 attempt deliveries" when I asked to be sent to a local collection point!!!!! Absolutely NON SENSE.

My experience with Evri as both a seller and buyer is in the nightmare zone!
I will not ship with Evri and I go out of my way to have a seller use an alternative including paying additional for the postage! If a seller or even a retailer can't or won't use an alternative courier I will cancel the purchase or buy from elsewhere.
From what I can figure it must be geographic location that determines experience with Evri! Where I live there is a local forum for 'missing Evri parcels' with several hundred members.
Parcels sitting at delivery depot for weeks without being delivered (23 working days is my personal best wait!)
Parcels marked as delivered but somehow returned to the sender.
Parcels marked as delivered, proof photo of somewhere unrecognisable and package vanished in the ether.
Some parcels that do get sent out have been found in farmers fields, ditches, lay-bys and the side of the road.
'photo proof' of delivery of parcels sitting on fence posts, driveways, doorways & garden sheds non of which belonged to the recipients.
A couple of months ago someone recognised an area from a proof of delivery photo that was posted and it turned out to be 8 miles from the recipients address!

I love all carriers as long as they deliver on time, undamaged with a smile on their face.
Evri fit that list of demands easily in our area - always on time or early (then they let you know ) - always leave where you want and sometimes if the weather is bad they will trudge 50 metres in the rain to put them in the greenhouse without asking if we locked the porch and went out - they will then send a text to your mobile telling you where it is and leave you their number to ring the driver back if you have a problem. The driver will always speak and ask how you are if they see you, have a little chat '
In return we give the driver glowing reviews every time which helps the driver apparently. Our driver treats her job as her own business
Is this the same EVRI you are talking about ? It is for us all about the driver - get a good one and they are fantastic - get a relief driver when they go on holiday and AAAARGH

I sent 2 parcels with Hermes.
Both items were damaged in the post.
So 100% fail so far.
I have used RM since 2008 and had one lost parcel in thousands.

If u used packlink its absolutely painless getting both ur money back and the profit lost. Each to their own I prefer evri. RM loses most of mine but then I also work for Evri now and again so it benefits me so i can take my packages to the depot.

Personally, i think all couriers have their issues, but like alot of people point out, you only get people shouting about the bad stuff.
I bought an item 6 weeks ago off ebay and it never arrived (via Evri), so obviously, i was refunded. Got a knock at the door yesterday and it was my Evri driver. I said i wasn't expecting anything, which i wasn't, so imagine my shock when i opened it and it was the item i bought 6 weeks ago 😂
Better late than never i guess, but the first issue i've had with Evri in years and years!

I use Evri most of the time and I've yet to have a problem. Hope I haven't jinxed it now though

Exactly. Totally comes down to the driver. I have my local round and am always available on facebook etc to sort problems out. I get messages from people out my area asking for help etc. I try my best to provide the best service i can. Unfortunately it doesn't matter with Evri. No matter how hard i try to help, people do nothing but send abuse or post horrible things on facebook and some throw my picture up. If you leave it at the back door they can't find it. Leave it at the front door cuz they lock their gate, you're careless as someone can steal it. If you don't leave it, they go mental cuz i obv didn't try any of the neighbours. U try the neighbours and they go nuts cuz they don't get on with them. It's a thankless job. But on that note if anyone here needs help with Evri packages i can try my best to help.

If you use packlink with evri tho. U just go into "postage labels" section, find the item. Select "contact packlink". Then go to "file a claim". If its lost, u fill out the form. If its damaged you include the pictures. For "proof of value" just print a PDF of the invoice to buyer. For proof of postage send a PDF snapshot of the tracking. Send that over and they open an investigation. If the item is damaged and u provide picture, they usually accept the claim in an hour and give u back the cost of the sale on ebay, and the postage so its a win win. Lost takes a bit longer but i've never had a claim refused.

Agree with that. Both my postie and evri couriers are always very pleasant. I don't use evri to despatch my parcels as I have had bad experiences in the past and also my evri drop off point is about 5 miles away on a main road little or no parking and quite honestly some of the staff are quite rude
that said I have had plenty of parcels delivered by evri for which I've been happy with so it does seem to depend on local couriers
I also agree with what you say re Amazon Ive had cardboard boxes left in the rain when I clearly have a covered area to leave stuff in and they very rarely knock and wait for me to answer the door it seems knocking is just a process they go through

I've been noticing that it can depend on who your Evri driver is on any particular day!
