So I have been a seller on and off her since June 2001, Over the years I have sent items recorded delivery that either never turn up , or arrive with no notification of delivery. Now someone wants to charge a buyer a fee for safe delivery, when they would have been charged that in the P&P cost. Frankly it sounds more like a scam than customer service and Ebay are also trying to force us to use their shipping option, So much for free enterprise, sound like trying to get the monopoly on delivery as well. As for hanging on the sellers cash til 2 days after delivery, really so post office goes on strike and you don't get paid, Think I may start looking to leave. So much for eBay's loyalty to us .

Apart from all the other valid criticisms in this enormous thread, which I'm sure eBay is studiously ignoring...
This makes selling less 'fun'. I enjoy the process of listing stuff. I don't enjoy having to do a maths degree to figure out how much I need to sell each item for, in order that the price doesn't end up being £187.54 or something weird, in order that it's actually priced competitively, etc.
What a confusing mess. As someone who's been selling for 20+ years, for the first time, I'm actually considering Facebook Marketplace, Vinted etc.

You can be sure of that. These policy changes have been made be people in suits who don't understand eBay culture nor have ever used the platform in thier life.

Simple shipping so to ship an item ebay are going to introduce this option at present but not for long. You print out a label on the ebay site you print it off on your printer you use your tape to secure the label you then take your parcel to the drop off point ie post office etc. Well I do this already so what’s the difference? Its called simple shipping because Ebay are going to charge you an arm & a leg for that priviege the what does simple mean (Ebay sit back let you do all the work Simply make a lot of money ) sorry Ebay I tried your global shipping had 2 sales abroad while opting in in 2 years came out of it & sold many items abroad . Why Too expensive.

"These policy changes have been made be people in suits who don't understand eBay culture nor have ever used the platform in thier life." - or understand UK consumer laws.

Latest twist I hadn't noticed until today is that with offers the buyers protection fee goes in to your offer. Some one just made me an offer and when I tried to counter it the system told me I couldn't make an offer more than the buyers protection fee.. again disproportionately effecting low value items.

Do you have screenshots?
Not questioning what you are saying, just would be easier to understand.

The other side of the coin.
Perhaps Simple Shipping is to make it easier for your buyer (rather than any seller)?

That sucks. The more I see of this cluster*bleep* of a rollout the more I wonder who exactly is in charge of this company. I reckon the inmates of an insane asylum could do a better job.

Probably geared to the broader seller base rather than to the individual?

Trading standards or similar should be looking at certain elements of this rollout.
The dual pricing thing is frowned upon in consumer law and if you do it, you have to make sure it's clear.
Some of this is anything but clear.

Hi andha
Trading standards or similar should be looking at certain elements of this rollout.
Why?
And they don't have the resource to do so.
The dual pricing thing is frowned upon in consumer law
What dual pricing and what law?

I'm noticing that Buyer Protection is always 3p cheaper than it ought to be, whether the listing is 50p or £10 or £250. Just me? Or am I missing something? Example below should be £10.75.

I asked this yesterday, but no one replied, so I'll try again:
"I could have sworn I read somewhere on here, that the BPF wouldn't show on Auctioned items until it came to checkout? ..It's showing on all my live items (listings renewing after Tue 11th)."
