EVRI v ROYAL MAIL …. NO BRAINER !!!

As a past and current regular user and with substantial experiences of both Evri and Royal Mail delivery services, I have now made the decision to give Evri the elbow and use Royal Mail only.

If not at home, I prefer to collect the undelivered Royal Mail item from my local Post Office Outlet the following day, than take the chance of the Evri delivery choice of leaving it outside my front door for the whole world to see plus of course the weather elements can have their say.

Re: EVRI v ROYAL MAIL …. NO BRAINER !!!

I am sick to death of Royal Mail at the moment. Another 5 late delivery defects for me to hope eBay remove on the way this week already. RM collected the item on Monday (Tracked 48) and it isn’t even scanned at a depot yet. Of course eBay quoted 1-2 day EDD, so after today it is late.

Combined with not scanning 2nd class large letters at an ever growing rate (I had to refund another chancer recently who cottoned onto this), they are causing me nothing but hassle.

For all Evri’s flaws, if I post something in time for the day’s collection I’m confident it will arrive in a couple of days. I can’t say that for RM anymore.

Around here RM leave stuff on the doorstep - we haven't had anything taken back to delivery office for months, probably over a year. Their service has been totally shocking the past year.

If buying from a private seller using SD, I would go for one that has Evri selected, then I can use the cheaper and more convenient shop-to-shop option.

I agree with that except the only concern I’d have is how well the seller packages the item if we go with Evri. That’s one area where I’m still more confident in Royal Mail’s handling than I am with Evri’s.

I check my tracking delivery photos on items I’ve sent sometimes and I see a lot more crushed boxes on the Evri tracking but I package to account for that, to be fair the private seller may not have time or packing materials to do that.

Re: EVRI v ROYAL MAIL …. NO BRAINER !!!

I've had several issues with EVRI lately. Tracking goes in a loop for days sometimes 'Parcel is at the delivery depot', 'We're processing your parcel at our hub', etc. On average it's taking a week from when they are collected.

As a seller 1 parcel went missing last month. As a buyer 2 parcels went missing last month. ('still being sorted at our hub').

One was refunded after 3 weeks and the next one is 'Out for delivery' pretty much every day.

I even receive daily emails usually around 1am that EVRI's driver Mark is delivering the parcel today.

I personally think Mark took the van including my parcel & enjoying the sun somewhere in the South of France and everyday, promising he'll be back to work on the next day.

I opened a case on the 5th and now I have to wait until the 26th for eBay to step in even after having the case escalated.

As a buyer, I hate evri. It either goes awol, delivered late, left on my doorstep in full view of everyone or arrives damaged.
